What will the high water do to your local fishing program ?

Here on P10 I will be pushing back into the backwaters.. There are many many sloughs on P10 that will hold walleye bass and pike…

The high water will scatter the fish because there is more places for them to play.. So chances are I won’t come into a huge mother load..

I plan to keep moving from spot to spot and current seam to current seam and I think I should do well !!

I’m seeing differing forcasts for the river, but any more high water there sucks.

I fish a small lake north of home and its up about 18″ right now again after having just gotten to normal after prolonged high water. The first couple days of high water there scatters fish but they settle down pretty well quickly so I’ll have fishing there.

For pool 2 it will be.much the same. Look for areas with less flow. Will also be looking for areas clearer water and less crud in it. I like high river water as it allows me to fish areas I usually cant get to, find the right spot or current seam and it can be some pretty good fishing.

I’m thinking I’ll be fishing out of the camper door within the week.

That means you’ll have snakes right on the door step. Post pictures.

I don’t think I can get Kerry Harvey to take a picture again.

His Mother Hen was telling me he’s seeking help from the last image the took. Can’t sleep and when he does, there’s night mares.

we were on 10 week before last and had tough going, fishing bass and panfish, fish were very scattered with one or two here and there and lots of time inbetween bites. grass and weed beds seemed either way behind schedule or they were all under water. only been fishing 10 for last couple of years so still on the learning curve.

I’ve heard flooded backwaters can be new habitat and good food source for bass and have seen pros on TV like KVD and Al Lindner do shows that looked pretty productive. Anyone see the show the Lindners did a couple years ago and venture to guess the body of water?

This weather will keep the Wi.

northern flowages full for awhile, the last couple of years they were dropping the water levels already.

The high water is awesome for my local spots on pool 2. Seems like the walleye start showing up in the backchannels in numbers when there is high water. The action at night and early mornings is awesome! Day time is slow.
