my back two seat pedestals have been getting stuck in the bases have tried wd 40 and 3n1 oil but neither seems to help much not sure if maybe I got too much gunk on them and their getting gummed up or if maybe forming some kind of suction when water gets down in them but they get so tight I cant budge them with my hands. this last time after being out in the rain I needed to insert a pry bar in one of the slots and pound them up and out. any ideas out there 2008 alumacraft navigator

If/when you get them out, take a close look at the bottom of the pedestal. Quite often the aluminum will mushroom out at the bottom. If it does, you need to either grind, sand or file the mushroom shape off the end to prevent them from getting stuck the next time.

If you know somebody that has a lathe, have’m take about .010 off the part that slides into the holder. Did that with all mine, no troubles since- – – -jerr

If you have the type were the seat pedestal seat in a well,I just cut some PVC 1 1/2 piping and cut it about 1/8 rings. Then just put them in the bottom of the well. Now my pedestal do not sticking anymore. Good luck on what you do!!

With all the other great suggestions given, once you get them out, also get any sand out of the holes too.

    That’s what made mine difficult
