Anyone know how deep these things dive? I’m on a relitively shallow lake and pull my spinners and such in 6′ and under.

I just bought a “Count Down” version of the Scatter Rap for that reason….you can vary depth depending on the body of water.

Used mine (Firetiger) last week up in Canada trolling in 6 – 8′ of water. I was the only one in our group of 4 to have one and everyone was scrambling to come up with something with Firetiger color. Even when they did, the scatter rap out produced what they were using.

You’ll can get almost 10′ using the scatter shad with superline (I use 10# Suffix 832) at 150′ behind the boat. For 6′ depth you’ll want about 65′ behind a boat.

Scatter crank and scatter minnow are going to run just a little bit shallower so you’ll want to run them out just a little bit farther.

Another tip that I’ve found really triggers strikes with the scatter rap is making sure to add pauses during your retrieve or rod pumps when trolling. Something about a quick sideways movement caused with the stop/go that is just deadly

I only pull my spinner rigs 35′ behind the boat. Not sure the line counters even go to 100′ much less 150’…. Guys I’ll take you guyses tips and buy a couple to try em out! Thanks

On lead core or BB however deep you want them to. Makes me wonder if they catch lake trout? Sure wish they had some guys that were fishing these things on a beautiful body of water with the latest equipment in a good time of the year and had camera crews with em.

I think some of the lower scoring folk in the St Croix Valley Walleye League should switch over to Scatter Raps….

    Just sayin’.

I’m not good at hinting. I guess I meant to say after seeing the guys haul in boatloads of eyes, bass and northerns for a few days of the Challenge maybe they will try their luck for some Lakers.
