Smart phones are making up 30% of Google internet searches (up 400% in one year) by Christmas they are predicting 60% of all Google searches will be coming from smart phones. Out numbering Desktops. What do you prefer? Smart Phone or Desktop (laptop):
However only 90% of websites look good on Smart Phones. They just aren’t made for tiny screens. Most businesses will have to have both a desktop version and a Mobile optimized versions.

I can’t vote. There is no “whatever is in front of me” option.
I’d be interested in knowing what people are searching for on a phone vs laptop/desktop/tablet.
Example, on a phone I do a lot of basic searches, nothing in depth. I might search for info on IDing a bird from my phone.
On my laptop I would search for something more in depth like a tutorial on development.
Alright, now that I am back in front of a PC I can elaborate.
There were two questions here.. one “How do you surf the web?” and the question which was by the poll was “which do you prefer?”. Obviously I prefer my PC since I can type 500 times faster, multi-task and do a lot of other things while I search. But I surf the web on both a phone and a PC. So I voted under the “which do you prefer” for PC while on my phone.
For convenience I like the ability to google on the go with my phone.

Obvious just for advertising since there is an advertisement link in the post.. but still take the poll, it will be interesting to see what IDO’ers prefer.
Wow I’m surprised at the results. I figured more votes would go to desktops. I voted desktop from my phone. But it really depends on what I’m researching. If it’s anything I need to take notes on, a desktop is preferred for the simple reason that it’s a better set up to surf and write. However being able to Google on my phone is pretty helpful when settling disputes or finding store info.
Actually I do both. When I am out of the office or home I do a lot of internet stuff and it happens on my smart phone.
