My Dad told me that we should fly our colors from Flag Day until the 4th of July. Since he was an active member of the VFW, American Legion, DAV ect. I never questioned him

I can’t seem to find a reference to this.

In the mean time, Old Glory is flying at the BK house!

My father is buried on the Avenue of Flags at the cemetery. They started it to honor WW2 vets and have expanded it to include all veterans. It is a sight to see and an honor to be the son of one of Americas “Greatest Generation”
May Old Glory fly high and proud forever and ever.Amen

It might be uncool or against some code but mind flies 365 days a year. It’s a reminder to all of the sacrifices that were made (and continue to be made) to make this country what it is today. Everyone needs to understand it’s a privilege to live here and enjoy all the rights and freedoms provided in this country.

Thanks for reminding me Stuart. I have to take some catfish over to Stan and his Wife Georgie, Georgina is her first name but everyone calls her Georgie for short. Stans pushing 91 now and can barely see and flew over Italy liberating Italy from the Germans. Anyway I told them In the spring Id bring them over some fresh catfish when I started fishing in the spring, they both liked that idea. Better appreciate them now because they may not be here soon and Its nice to see them smile anyway. One thing about old folks is you can see a lot of history in their eyes and their smile, going over tomorrow to pay them a visit.
