If the wife calls the cell phone Im soon to be done fishing. This one always seem to come true.

If Im 100% certain there are no fish in a spot it needs to be fished.

Never get your beer/fish ratio to far out of whack.

No beer until you boat a fish. Somedays this just doesnt happen.

Telling someone “you are not going to catch anything on that” is a sure fire way for them to start catching fish. Telling the wife that magnifies the effect.

Almost forgot the “one last cast theory”. Saying “one last cast” or “lets get out of here” is a sure fire way of catching a fish or at least getting one good solid hit.

When trolling crankbaits, which is 90% of the time, I never set my linecounter to an even number.

Sometimes, you need to take a shot in order to get the fish to start biting. There’s a science to it, really.

As for superstitions, my only one is that I will only catch fish if I’ve got my line in the water.

If you catch a fish on the first cast, the rest of the day is going to be lousy.

    Especially if it’s a drum

we say “here’s the 5 minute warning” One trip we had good luck when the guy in the front of the boat read us dirty jokes, fishing really picked up!
