Shimano Stradic C14

    Was at Cabala’s picking up a couple reels and was told the Stradic C14 is being discontinued and will be on sale later in the summer for about $50 off the normal $199 price. Just thought I’d throw it out there in case anyone was kicking around the idea of getting one, a little too pricey for me. I got a pflueger purist 1335 and a Lews speed spin, $130 for both.

    Did they say why it was being discontinued? I though it was a pretty awesome and popular reel…

    He was surprised by it as well, said it was one of their better sellers. I don’t know. There is a member on here from Joe’s Sporting goods that might shed some light on it.

    I’m anxious to try out the Lews, seems really well built, 10 ball bearings-$49.99, thought it would be good for rigging. Anyone fish one?

    You will really like the purist. Have put mine through some serious battles with some really big fish so far this spring and performed wonderful.

    I have not heard anything about that yet. Great reel but, shimano does have a lot of reels in every price range maybe they are consolidating lines?

    Shimano has updated a number of reels. I’m told that the Stradic CI4 is one of the next in line for upgrade.

    They’re not getting rid of the reel. Just improving it. I’ve been told that by several different stores, so I’m hoping it’s true. CI4 is a GREAT real.

    Great thanks for the heads up more gear that I don’t need but can’t pass up that deal…I’ll be watching!

    Yeah , It was just one guy at Cabela’s but thought I’d pass it on so people can save some $ and possibly stock up. He said they were getting a large shipment for the sale.
