How can you possibly be breaking a cable

(multiple cables)? How do you have the transducer/cord attached?

only one. i have twisted the cable in two twice so what is the right way to attach the cable to the shaft ? with the unit turning left to right with out having a big loop hanging out of the shaft.

If you do not want external wires then you run them inside the shaft. You take it apart and drill a small hole in the bottom piece just big enough to get the plug through. Then you run it through the shaft and out the top. Tighten it up and seal the holes with marine silicone.

I believe trumar was the one who brought this up on IDO a while back.

I have always had external wires and never had one pinched, pulled, or cut.
