Are you sure you want your boat in the water all the time? Have you considered dry land storage that many places offer?
I keep my big pleasure boat in dry land storage at a marina and I like this option much better than having it in the actual water in a slip. I call and the marina can have the boat in the water and tied up at the well dock in 30 minutes. Even on a busy weekend, they cut to the front of the launch line to put my boat in so there’s never any waiting.
I don’t have to worry about the boat filling up with rain water, or (gulp!) a hose or bellows failure. I don’t have gunk and crap building up on the hull, I don’t have the sun damage, no bottom paint needed, no acid wash needed, etc, etc.
Since my boat sits on my trailer, I can refuel simply by hooking up and driving out the gate to the gas station across the road. That saves $1 a gallon on average vs marina prices, so $50-$75 savings per fillup. That alone saves a few hundred per year.
Worth thinking about.
