    From Tim Spreck at MOHA:

Good afternoon, Shortly before noon today the Governor exercised his line item veto on the Legacy Bill and kept his promise to Minnesota’s Sportsmen and women. The two provisions which were not properly vetted through the Lessard Sams Council were removed and the remainder of the bill signed. This act culminates a well coordinated effort by many groups and individuals too numerous to mention and shows the power of the “Casters and Blasters” when we all work together toward a common goal. The most important part about this action is that it protects the authority and viability of the Council moving forward and establishes a very solid precedent for future Legacy Bills. All in all, this is a very good day for the Council and for all sportsmen. Have a great weekend. Tim

I’ll give him credit for keeping his word. Now for the other side of my mouth, what about that cigarette tax?

Kudos to Mr Dayton for keeping his promise to
the sportsmen and sportswomen of Minnesota.

Shame on the old hag, from Minneapolis, who tried
to steal and (or) misuse the funds intended for
    the peoples natural resources.

Also, nice work by all of you concerned citizens
who made your voices heard !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He kept his word on this one. He still has not addressed the tribal netting issue. He said he would during his election campaign.

Maybe, just maybe we can get him to look at this issue now.
    Remind him of his PROMISE!

I can’t say I’m a fan of Gov Goofy, but I think a thank you email is in order from everyone who contacted him and urged him to keep his promise on this.

Maybe if we’re nice, he’ll listen to us more often.

    I cant believe I am saying this…..

Mark Dayton was correct in his veto of this incorrectly proposed legislation.

I am thankful that there are “checks and balances” that function…sometimes.

    Hmmmmm…. I guess she was wrong….

The LSOHC is just wrong on both of those and the Legislature has the duty and authority to correct it.

    Good evening.

Please explain these two bullet points –

    1. The funding of projects in metro area parks which was not supported by the Lessard Sams Council. These projects were rejected by the Council and funding them now opens the door for future circumvention of the Council on an even larger scale in coming years. These projects can certainly be considered again by the Council but need to go through the proper process.
    2. Additional funding for AIS which was not supported by the Council or the DNR. Although this sounds good on its face, it is another direct example of the legislature working around the Council and poses danger for the authority of the Council moving forward.

I live in S Mpls and dont think this is appropriate –

    Thanks

    Scott

    Git her Scott.

I will admit Dayton has been about as good as a friend to sportsman as we have had.
