What is the Scatter Rap Challenge? It is…

    Six Guys.

    Five Days.

    100 miles.

Their mission will be to fish Lake of the Woods from Kenora, Onatario south to Baudette, MN covering over 100 miles of water in 5 days using nothing but Rapala’s groundbreaking new lure – the Scatter Rap!

Sign up at Notifications – Scatter Rap Challenge one Lake of the Woods to follow the action online and we’ll take you along on the journey sharing every hookset, every big fish landed and hot-spot uncovered along the way. To those that follow along, Rapala and Cabelas will be giving away a variety of prizes daily and some lucky fan will take home the Scatter Rap Challenge Grand Prize for correctly guessing the total number of fish caught.

Even if you don’t fish Lake of the Woods this should have something for everyone. Fishing updates done morning, noon and night along with on the water coverage documenting the entire trip.

I used the Scatter Rap on Saturday evening…had 2 other guys in the boat with me (each using different cranks). They “washed the box”, trying everything they had. After a few hours of fishing, the Scatter Rap had boated 10 walleyes and all other efforts boated 2.

    I’m a believer.

Slow learners…….. That’s when you need to tell them you only brought one. The ON THE WATER price of the Scatter Rap gets pricey.

First thing I thought of when I watched the video of people fighting over the Scatter Raps was…

Holst will never let me tie one on his line.

You still owe me, not one, but TWO, #12 Orange Craw HJ’s. For the record, knots that work in 80# catfishing rope don’t necessarily work all that well in 6# diameter braid.

PS – should you ever be moved to replace those lures you can pick them up on Ebay for $10 used or $18 new. Discontinued Orange Craw HJs

    Just sayin’.

I can’t wait to see you fish for bass on LOTW. Or is that a weird looking walleye in the picture?

Only a catfisherman would confuse Fireline with the line I use.

Man, I love fishing for smallies. I’ll take a pass on the green bass though.

You are so lucky I don’t have time top dig up the photo’s of you and Steve, Dirk and the rest… you in the closet cat man.

BUT to conveniently change the subject. What about the 6 dudes, 5 days and 100 miles?

Will we be able to post directions to you guys and then you do it?

Seriously, how’s this going to work? I signed up for the email…that’s a start.

How can the Scatter Rap be fished? Cast? Trolled? Popped on top?

We will have a fish counter tracking every fish as it is caught.

We will be sharing video reports from the lake 3 times a day… morning, noon and night.

We will be sharing how and where we’re catching fish down to the GPS coordinates so people can use the info we’re sharing and catch more fish on their next trip to LOTW.

We will have video tips from some of the biggest names in the industry including Al, James and Ron Lindner along with many of the guys here on the IDO Pro Staff.

The whole idea is to see what we can do with this new bait the Scatter Rap. We’re going to fish 100 miles of LOTW in 5 days to see what this bait is all about.

How can you fish it? It can be cast, trolled, fished on lead core or long lined. Pulled behind boards or bottom bouncers. It better be versatile… we’re going to tackle a million plus acres of LOTW with it with no plan B and the world watching.

If you have signed up for the notifications, here you go>>> http://scatterrap.cabelasevents.com/

PS – Cabelas and Rapala are going to be giving away a mountain of free goods during that week to those following along.

It should be fun to compare notes. Of course our notes might be a bit more detailed with 5 camera guys and three film boats documenting it all.
