Came across a bamboo flyrod and had to try it out for the first time. It is hard to compare to a graphite rod because technology is great, but the bamboo rod worked great also!! I have seen a lot of Heddon bamboo rods but I have never seen one in this great of shape before. There is no warping and all and the pieces fit together snug and perfect. A lot of people would hang this on their wall, but Im going to put it through it’s paces in the field. The rod may be 63 years old, but it has a fighting heart.

I have two of them and can not bring myself to use them. They are so beautiful that I’m afraid that I would break them. One of them is call the Angler and has what I been told twin tips because it has 2 tips. The other one I can not read the plate on it.

Nice look fish that you got there!!!

Your probably right. Maybe this one will just come out for special trips. I told myself that if I break a tip there is a back up.

Yessir! I believe bamboo is the biggest species of grass on earth.

That looked like a blast! I have an old bamboo rod in the rafters that was my fathers when he was a kid, no way I would be brave enough to take it fishing!
