If you’re going to do it do it right the first time! I fish only St. Croix legend tournament Muskie rods except for one Thorne bros custom predator. They are far and away the finest Muskie sticks you can buy off the rack and the big nasty is one of the best in they’re line up! I have friends that fish the TI china rods and have nothing but problems with them. Anything from misaligned guides to cracked epoxy on the guides and handles that fall apart. As far as the split grip if you palm the reel I think you’ll really like it but if you hold the fore grip you’ll hate it like I did. Give Dean at anglers guide HQ a call when you order your St Croix absolutely the best service around!

    I second the Big Nasty

My absolute favorite all around rod

You get what you pay for, so buy a quality american made product like a St. Croix, and you won’t be dissappointed

I would suggest St Croix also, or a Thorne Bros Predator depending on how much you want to spend.

I almost exclusivly use TI rods now. I do have a Predator and a Loomis but my everyday workhorse go to rods are the TI…
