Depending on the size and number of chips you can take a match and touch them up no sanding required. Use a match out of a matchbook, using the end you tore off not the end you light. Or if there is a lot of them and you want to repaint, feather them out with 320-400 grit and apply some primer from a spray can. Then top coat with paint the next day by blending over the existing paint on just the spots or repaint the whole gunwhale. Of course this will only work if you have a color that is in a spray can or a small automotive type spray gun. If your really picky on how its going to look, call a bodyshop and see if they would be interested in doing it. If they are slow I’m sure they would do it! I work at one and it makes great fiiller work for us techs! If you want more info feel free to shoot me a pm!

Hey Paul, this is a long shot but you might know my brother-in-law, Ed Welter, hes a salesman for 3M auto after market. I have a garage full of sandpaper, all the compounds, glazes etc… comes in handy!

Q tip and dab the chipped or scratched area lightly until flush with the rest. You will never notice it was there.
