Looking at building a detached garage. Trying to figure out how big of garage a guy could build for $25000. I understand there are alot of variables but wondering if anybody could give me an idea.

I’ll have an estimate for a 30 x 24 in a couple days. Once I have it I can pass it on to you.

    Need alot more info…

What are you looking to have when finished?? A completly finished garage or a shell. How about electrical?? What materials cheap or quality?? Are you doing it yourself or hiring it out. What about site prep any fill needed??

Stick frame or post frame. (this will vary in price if your finishing off the interior.) Post frame is cheaper to put up but ends up being more expensive if you finish it off. WIndows?? How many overhead doors?? one service door? insulated? 2×4 or 2×6 const

At 25k 30 x 50 shouldnt be a problem if your doing most of it yourself

Fill in some of the info and that will help

I built mine a couple years ago. 26X44 with 3 1/2 stalls w/ one 16ft door one 8ft door both at 8ft tall. 2×4 consturction with two walk in doors. 9ft ceiling, metal roof, insulated w/ vinyl siding and 6″ thick slab w/1″ styrofoam and rebar. Finished the inside with 7/16 osb. I put about 20,000 into mine, and did the work myself. Hope this helps. I would go to Menards and use their design it your self computer. Make it what you really want, and see where the price ends up. Just remember the slab will be extra. Hope this helps.

I just put up a 30x50x10 ft sidewalls last fall that was 2×6 studs. The check for the materials alone was like 17,500.00 with insulation for the walls not the ceiling and that had no material to finish the inside walls. I also had around 13k in site work to put the footings and slab in. That is also factoring in the concrete work was done more or less as a favor and cost of goods. Now add overhead doors, interior covering ,electrical and blown in fiberglass for the ceiling and you can see where the price goes.Whatever your estimates are add 5k minimum to be safe.

I’ve just priced out building 3 different garages – (2) @ 24×30 and a 28×36. Finishing ranged from very basic vinyl sided, 16×7 OHD, no service door and a couple cheap vinyl windows to way over the top with bathroom, Bar, storage room trusses, Stone Exterior, Carrage doors,.. $24,480 to $104,840.00 . As Schur stated above, there are so many variables that will affect your cost. $80K can pay for a lot of toys
