    Hello IDO,

Most people of the Hunting Side of IDO, knew and followed my weekly updates following the story of my little buddy Kaden, who was battling a form of bone cancer. This past December 22, Kaden squeezed his mom’s hand and let go. Friends and family helped out Kaden’s family in their battle from beginning to end and still to this day, we all try to help them in there new life without Kaden. Ever since the Tjossems could they have been looking for ways to help other families who are fighting the disease of cancer as well. Logan (Kaden’s dad) and I are both signed up to paticipate in this event on August 24th. Please read on.

(Moderators, could you please pin this thread so it stays on the top for a little while)

I am busy training for a 25.5 mile hike in one day. Yes, you read that correctly! Over the next three months, through rain or shine, I’ll be hiking many, many miles-and steep miles at that – to prepare for the Ultimate Hike benefitting CureSearch for Children’s Cancer.

Ultimate Hike is an endurance training program that benefits CureSearch for Children’s Cancer. I will be taking on this extreme endeavor to challenge myself both physically and mentally. But I’ve set my sights higher than just training to hike 25.5 miles. I also aim to raise at least $2,500 to help find a cure for children’s cancer, the number one cause of death by disease in children.

Nearly 13,500 children and adolescents are diagnosed with cancer each year. 1 out of every 5 of those children diagnosed with cancer does not survive. 3 out of 5 children who are diagnosed suffer devastating, long-term side effects.

This is where, I’m hoping, you come in. Though I can do the training, I need your help to reach my fundraising goal. Making a donation is easy and secure! Just click “Donate” below to make a donation that will be credited to my fundraising. Any amount you can give is greatly appreciated!

You can also join the fight against children’s cancer by forwarding this email along to your contacts! You never know who might be able to help and every gift, no matter the size, is another step closer to a cure.

Thank you in advance for your support of my efforts through Ultimate Hike! With your help, I can hike 25.5 miles to give many others a lifetime of hope!

Click on my Link to help out. I really, really appreciate it. If anyone else want’s to walk you can join our team as well. You will need to raise the $2500.00 as well if you sign up to participate. We’d love to have you.

Kory, very sorry for your loss and thank you for your support. I did not know you or your child. I can only offer my sympathies for your family. I am sure it is still a daily struggle. Hold your memories close to your heart. Our loved ones will always be with us.

Joe, we really appreciate your donation, thank you for getting me closer to reaching my goal.

IDO, Thank you for pinning this for me. Kaden will be on top for a while now.

I am adding Kaden’s Care Page that his mom diligently updated for all the friends and family. If you have some time, please read it. It starts way back in September of 2011 and goes through yesterday as she posted about the passing of Zach Sobiech. Zach was definitly an awesomely inspiring young man as well. His song “Clouds” was played at Kaden’s funeral.

Again, I really, really appreciate any help that you might be willing to offer towards the fight against childhood cancer. See my link above in my origianl post for Kaden’s Angels

I just saw this post this morning. Not sure how I missed it. Guess sometimes what’s right in front of a persons nose is the last to be seen.

Bob’s half way to his goal for fund raising.

If you have an extra $5. or $10. laying around jump on over to the website and donate.

We’ve changed things up a little bit. Logan & I have combined our team with two other fathers in Rochester that have lost son’s to cancer. Steve Dickes & Tom Cannan are honoring there son’s (Both William) Our new team name is My Three Son’s in memory of William, Will and Kaden. Our new team goal is now $10,000.00 in donations.

Come on folks, these guys are kicking my butt in donations so far (not that it’s really a compitition, but…..) Anyone interested in helping out our cause? I’ll post the link to our team page My Three Son’s

And also my page Kaden’s Angles (Bob Pries)

This is an amazing organization that is helping research the battle against childhood cancer. Please help where and when you can.

I don’t know if I ever told you this Bob. I was following Kaden’s life on Facebook. One day I noticed a friend from High School was also following Kaden’s page. What are the odds that two guys from the same small town in the middle of no-where South Dakota were touched by this angel. I never met the young man but feel very privileged to have been allowed to follow the path he was on.

    Here’s to Logan and you!

The old saying of “It’s a small world” comes around every week, for me at least. I’ve been all over SE MN bidding projects and people will be like “Hey, your friends with the Tjossem family” A lot and I really mean, a lot of people were touched is some way or another by this young man. Our fire department has his picture up in our meeting room, news papers did stories on him, Joe Mauer & Danny Valencia came down and met him (and others) – Mauer later invited the family up for a meet and greet at Target Field. Jim Kleinsasser, paid for Kaden’s Make-A-Wish trip. To say the least, that 5 year old boy made quite an impression on our world.

Again, to all that have donated and those who are going to be making a donation. Thank You Very, Very Much

If anyone is on the fence, send me a PM. I can answer any questions you might have. I know and understand that donations are always coming at you from everyone from the school & church groups to sports teams and what not. So I do understand if you cannot support us. Just an FYI too Curesearch is also a 501C3 company, so your donation can be wrote off.

I also wanted to post a photo of Kaden and his family so everyone could put a face with his name. He was just a beautiful and amazing little guy.

    Miss you little buddy.

Here is a story that the Post Bulliten in Rochester ran. All three dad’s talk about why they decided to do this and you can see pictures of the other two sons that we are honoring.

    Cancer – Take a Hike

There is still time to donate. Also please take note of the fundraiser for our hike we’re having on July 4th. It’s at Oxbow Park and Zoo in Byron, MN

I received an amazing donation over the weekend. Insty Prints of Rochester is going to be giving us custom designed shirts for our hike. He’s also giving a $.50 match donation up to a $1000.00. So as long as I raise $2,000.00 in donations, he’ll give us an addition $1000.00. Our team appears to be getting closer and closer.

Thank you Insty Prints – That is Awesome.

Bob, a few years ago some Ido members unselfishly helped out a fella by sending him checks to take care of a loss done by another human. The out pouring of help was very touching to all involved.

On one of the checks, in the memo line it said “Pay it Forward”.

Because of the good people that helped out back then, I have a check for Kaden’s run in the amount of $300.00 from an donor that would like to remain anonymous.

Let’s just call him “Paying it Forward @ In-Depth Outdoors”.

Please send me a private message for directions on how to proceed in helping him PAY IT FORWARD.

If I read your post correctly, that $300.00 is now $600.00 with an “atta boy!” going to Insty Prints of Rochester.

    Submit by Check Form

Here is a form that anyone can use if they would prefer to use an online payment. Remember to write in Bob Pries for the participant and our team is My Three Sons.

I got a little teared up at that donation BK. I also saw your donation come through over the weekend. Thank you Brian and Thank You Paying it Forward.

I did see the email come through last night. It’s always exciting to see an email from CureSearch I am already to just under $1,500.00 for my hike in August. YAY!!!! I need another $500.00 for Insty Prints of Rochester to donate his full $1000.00 that he pledged. Who’s in???? My Three Son’s – Bob Pries’ page

I’m honored and humbled by this website again. Previously from when we all shaved our heads to support Kaden and now by all who have donated in Honor of Kaden. It is truely amazing to receive this support from people who barely know me, let alone a 5 year old kid from Rochester. A sincere and heart felt Thank You, from me and the Team of “My Three Son’s”

WOW, Brian, WOW. If you shave your head, I’ll follow suit. My wife will hate it as well, but what the heck. It’s better to ask for forgiveness than permission.
