So I was getting tired of seeing bald deer on my cameras. I set up this Woody cam trap and came up with some neat pics. I plan to have this cam here throughout the spring in hope of getting the ducklings too.

It’s about 15 inches off the ground and about 2 feet from the water. I wanted to get it at water level but the tree wouldnt allow it.

Thanks guys,, I”ve had it soaking for about 10 days from when I pulled the pics above. I’m hoping to get some of them landing or taking off.

Sweet pics! Would be cool to see the little ones. I saw a documentary on woodies a couple months ago, it said as soon as their eyes open (7 days) mom pushes them out of the nest. Amazing that some birds go a month or better in the nest and mom kicks these out so quick. She literally pushes them out of the nest and they bounce off the ground and start walking around.

If I could remember the name of the video I would share it, I think it was a Nova film. Had wood duck in the title.
