What is your go to bait when it’s choco water?? Very frustrating but just wondering what has worked for you in the past? threw cranks, spinners, and no bites today, only green night crawler hit on sturgeons.

Power Team Lures 4.5″ Conviction Craw texas rigged. The claws will rest at a 45 degree angle which mimics the action of a threatened crawfish. Something with a little bigger profile in dirty water. Dark colors like black and brown I like best. Bright colors like chartreuse and bright reds work too.

I was never a big fan of white but after going through many colors in the last couple weeks, white has produced the most. Smallies, northerns, walleyes, mix some suckers in there too. But I’m sure my waters are a little bit cleaner than what you see down in your area. Paddletail white, I feel the vibration is what helps a lot, bc lindy spinners have worked really well too, gold underside.

That’s what I felt would work too but it’s all a gamble.

I would try a lil spinner. One like shown is a smaller presentation and has produced more nice fish for me from shore this year than anything else. Just shorten up the whole leader to 18″ and I go with a egg sinker and swivel to spinner. Have had it a couple times now guys will be fishing an area for some time with no results and I will show up and few casts into it start pulling out fish, I think they just got sick of seeing the same old jigs, spinnerbaits, stuff on the clearance rack from Wallymart. I think bc it is so small and compact but gives off a real good vibe in the water they go for it.

Do you use the single hook spinner rig plain? I doubt the fish have seen that one!

In fact I do. Recently a double hook setup with a Berkeley crawler on there has worked wonders, but have caught many eyes with the single with 3″ gulp minnow and without

Now that is thinking outside the box!

I’ve heard of guys trolling mepps trout spinners behind 3 ways for walleye, but never a plain spinner rig.

I once had a buddy outfish me from shore for walleyes using a large beetle spin type spinner with a walleye jig/twister tail attached to it. I could not buy a bite until I borrowed one of his beetle spin set-ups!
