    Never tried one have seen them used in winter just wondered how they are in open water.

    They work great in calmer water. If you use them in a river, the amount of current can wash them down pretty easily because of their light-weight design.

    I love to jig fish the river i fish and the section i fish has pretty good current usually got to start with 3/4 to 1 oz that is for vertical jigging

    A slender spoon and a small minnow hooked through the eyes does NOT work on river white bass… don’t even try it, especially not in gold/chart.
