No kidding. I ended up with around $60 for the hubbie/wife sportsman combo and pheasant stamp.
May 3, 2013 at 2:10 pm #1168002Ouch
My Nonresident went up quite a few bucks too
I sure hope that money’s going to good use
May 3, 2013 at 2:19 pm #1168008I was thinking about doing the 3 year angling license…
…I’d save a whopping $1 a year.
How do you guys expect them to keep stocking fish!
May 3, 2013 at 2:26 pm #1168010Licenses havent went up in almost 20 years… Tell me what else hasn’t gone up in price in the past 20 years?? Consider it a long overdue investment!
On a side note, now a days you can get a trout, walleye, ect stamp. When will I be able2 purchase a musky stamp?
desperadoPosts: 3010May 3, 2013 at 2:38 pm #1168014I’m not complaining either, since I was a proponent of increasing the license fees.
Now, how about a 2 line inland river stamp.
desperadoPosts: 3010May 3, 2013 at 2:47 pm #1168019ya wanna use two lines ? … just go icefishin’ !
it seems to be an option most of the year anymore

Or Lou Cornicelli’s pearly whites and Eddy bauer attrire? Most of these increases won’t get outside of administrator’s pay packages.

May 3, 2013 at 3:03 pm #1168026Still cheap for what you get. Freedom to fish 15,000 lakes whenever you want. Ya drop more than that for a night out at the movies with the family. Just my thinking I guess.

100% agree with that statement –
We are lucky to have the resources and access to them…

May 3, 2013 at 3:14 pm #1168031cheap is in the beholders eyes! To me cheap is North Dakota, you can use more lines if needed, you can fish for meat or throw them back.
May 3, 2013 at 3:24 pm #1168033Look at what Iowa does to nonresident deer hunters and then come back to me and say Minnesota gouges nonresidents. They are just coming around to what everyone else is doing. Yeah, North Dakota doesn’t have slots but they also don’t have near the pressure as the Minnesota lakes have. Heck, there are more people in Minneapolis & St. Paul then there is in the whole state of North Dakota.
I agree the increase was a little shocking but I knew it was coming. I purchased a individual sportsmans license with a walleye stamp, trout stamp, pheasant stamp, and duck stamp. The total came to $72.00 which is about 2 rounds of golf. It’s cheap entertainment it you ask me.

Exactly Chomps! And there are 35 lakes in ND. Yes,, I said 35. That’s .0023% of the opportunities that we have in MN. Good lord. Pay your $22 and say thank u, may I have another…..next year.
desperadoPosts: 3010May 3, 2013 at 3:35 pm #1168037North Dakota is a fine option … if that’s where you want to fish, I-94 west will get ya there

May 3, 2013 at 3:45 pm #1168041?? Did they just change the price? Hard to see how they can charge 53 for a resident and I just bought my non res/ husband/wife a couple weeks ago for $61.

Hey now! We have we have over 400 currently stocked lakes North Dakota’s fees will be going up next year a little too. Like someone else said, its been a long time since we’ve seen an increase. I have no problem paying more as long as its used correctly.

Sorry! did a quick google search on that one.
May 3, 2013 at 4:13 pm #1168055I was for an increase…
until I found out how much was going to the AIS BS.
Raising the price of anything because it hasn’t been raised in 20 year or only 3 times in 20 year is not a reason. With technology today most companies are doing more with less.
That said, they do have good reasons to raise the prices…until it comes to the AIS Panic.
