Hey guys, the carpet in my skeeter needs some help, my boat is almost ten years old and it sees a lot of on the water days in the summer. My carpet still looks good with no bad stains or thin spots the problem is it is matted down and is all crusty and hard. Do you guys know of any conditioners that I can use to make it softer. I wash it a couple times a year with a pressure washer so I know its not dirty. Thanks.

i have been told that a pressure washer will mat your carpet but as we all know its the easiest and sometimes the only way to get it spotless, but that being said i am told that vinegar will bring the carpet back to life.

How do apply the vinegar and is my boat gonna smell like a pickle?

Not sure how to apply it, but we use vinegar as a household cleaner and fabric softner. The smell is never an issue.

My dad and I just used vinegar on it. We poured it on the carpet, then used a wire dog brush against the grain of the carpet to let it completely soak in. Then after we vaccumed against the grain of the carpet to suck up access vinegar. I would say it worked pretty darn good! But according to this link, other ideas work and as long as your careful pressure washing, it can also work.
