    Hey Guys,
I’m in the market for a pressure washer. 2 purposes: Wash Vehicles & spray down the siding every spring & fall. I don’t need any overkill here, just something that will do a good job. Any recommendations? Thanks!

$300 will get a good 3000psi unit. Just choose the engine brand you prefer , Honda, Briggs etc… Once you realize all they do you’ll be glad you got that size.

I got a north star brand from either home depot or northern tool years ago. Around $300 and 3000 psi with a honda motor. Been used for work and home and many have borrowed it. Stick with the honda motor is my opinion

Remember If you get a elecrite one or an engine one remember to get one with water release. That way you can release pressure and keep it running. I kick myself in the butt for not getting that way.[gas engine-3000psi] Good luck!!!

Works good for cleaning your boat also

irony….I just bought one yesterday at Sams club for a hair under 300 bucks. Honda motor, 2800 PSI, works great for siding and garage floors.

I bought an electric one last year at menards. Not sure if I got a bad one or I didnt know how to use it correctly but I could never get the dumb thing to work. I ended up bringing it back and would never get another one.

Dont keep the washer anywhere that freezes – the bladder will crack and fail.

Nice toy / tool. Soon you will be pressure washing decks, driveway, etc. Be careful to not get too close to anything. They do peel paint.

Don’t forget about the pump! Honda engines are great but a cheap diecast pump won’t last to long. Look for one with a Cat pump, fully machined block.mine is a Dewalt. Pricey but well worth it.

I keep mine were it freezes but I always winterize it with some pump oil in a pressurized can, before you put it away attach can to water inlet spray until it comes out the outlet and you’re good to go

I’ve yet to find an electric one that lasts. I’ve had 3 of them and they just aren’t built for heavy use. When this one dies, I’m going gas powered.

One note, though. Use the different tips so that you don’t peel paint or using on siding you can cut into the wood.

I notice there are a lot of cheap gas pressure washers out there with China-made generic engines. Good luck getting a carb kit for those when you need it. I’d’ only buy Briggs or Honda engines because then you’ll know you can get parts. A gas pressure washer for home use will last 25 years or more, so sooner or later you will need parts.

I’ll second the carb kit too Grouse. I have a friend that has a log splitter and the motor went out so he bought one from Harbor freight that was made in China. He said it ran ok but when the float in the carb went bad he had to order another, in a kit. He said he got the kit but it took 9 months to get it and by that time he just went and bought a new splitter, with a honda engine on it.

Pick your pressure and gallons per minute for your price range, Remember Honda, Briggs and most of all on the manufacture choices, “Cat”!
