What type line is used for a 87 Johnson 50 hp. inboard tank, reg. line or high pressure? Thanks

My motto is, “if it’s worth doing! It’s worth over doing!”

I can’t see any reason why you couldn’t use the heavier line The only draw back I see is that it might not be as flexible as the regular line since it’s gonna have a thicker inside diameter

Vacuum line from the auto parts store. Buy it off the reel by the foot.
Black with nylon woven into it.
Make sure you have the correct size to fit on your tank, primer bulb and motor fitting. They “should” all be the same size.

I beg to differ, use actual fuel line. Yes you can also buy it in bulk and it will say fuel in its markings. Personally, I would go to a marine dealer and get the fuel line rated for marine use. It is designed to be compatable with all the chemicals found in our fuel, oils and chemicals including ethanol if that is in the gas you use. Gas is not something you want to cut corners on. Gas fumes igniting in a closed space can kill.

Bought high pressure gas line.. will keep a close look at.. Replaced short section that is exposed to outside 3 years ago and it has worked ok. Thanks for the wisdom.
