Might be another year of missed play-offs.

I thought they played very well in 1 & 2, third was iffy. Bottom line, if you give up 2 goals on 8 shots….. well, you ain’t going far. One needs to get hot at the right time and we are on simmer. Still not dead yet….
April 22, 2013 at 12:19 pm #1164698It’s over. They are done. Stick a fork in them. No way they make the playoffs. No way they run the table and get in. No way they win a series in the first round, second round or the Stanley Cup Finals. No way, Jose!
Also..
I am throug, done, fanito Benito!
desperadoPosts: 3010April 22, 2013 at 12:23 pm #1164699oh well; if there’s no more “Hockey stick on the ice” this spring, there’s still a bit of “jigging stick on the ice” to be had

The issue as I see it is they end up pressing. They get tons of chances and good time zone, so much so that they forget that they have to play defense and end up giving up odd man rushes.
The other huge issue is the power play has taken a dump.
I can’t believe the only team to beat San Jose at home has been the Blackhawks, well, until last night when our ugly sister expansion team Columbus won.
No heart, no class. This team and organization deserves to lose out. Move them to LA and let them get another team.

fire Yeo, fire Fletcher, fire everyone.
I agree with fire Yeo, the others not so much.

So we can go through another 13 years of so-so. This team ain’t that bad….. remember, it’s better to be lucky than good.
Bottom line, our lives will not change one bit if they win the cup, or fail to make the playoffs… Its just entertainment.. (well sometimes)

We all know what curse!
Don’t We!
April 22, 2013 at 9:06 pm #1164894It is disappointing that this is the second year that in the middle of the season they look like a sure playoff team only to tail off badly in the last part of the season. I agree they are pressing way to hard, when they are playing their game they have shown they can play with anyone. For whatever reason they do not seem to be responding to yeo in the latter parts of the season.
April 22, 2013 at 11:45 pm #1164949They are very delicate and not resilient when it comes to injuries. And by that I mean if a player goes out, they lose themselves. We are supposed to have more depth and be able to cover a player when he is out.
Never fear, we got our A team coming up. Dowell and Veilleux are on the way!
Thank God I won’t have to worry about choosing between fishing and Wild playoff games this year.
PB2Posts: 329April 23, 2013 at 7:08 pm #1165213I thought you were joking at first.
Do you think the L.A. Kings who were in 10th place at this point in the season last year, made the playoffs on the last day and there fans were crying like this guys?.
I guarantee we make the play-offs even after the Kings throttle us tonight!

Yeah I think fatigue is catching up with Backstrom. Certainly our effort is there with 35 SOG again and like stated above in hockey you are only as good as your next lucky bounce!

I tell you what. A few years ago I was so frustrated I posted on the Wild message board, which I frequented, I RESIGN AS A WILD FAN! Yes, I don’t know how to spell re-sign. I went on an epic rant.
You know what happened? The Wild ripped off a winning streak and made me a believer again. Then guess what happened when I really felt like they had a great team. Yup, you guessed it.
Screw the Wild, they are toast. At least next year I can drive to Iowa for Wild playoff hockey when they again miss the playoffs.
April 23, 2013 at 11:47 pm #1165328Sure hope someone has the game up there on Friday and Thursday. I want to see them #fail.
April 23, 2013 at 11:49 pm #1165329Where was this team on Sunday, or the last 3 weeks for that matter? I got free tix on Sunday to sit in the club level and still feel like I got cheated.
Pug, I’m ready, believe me I’m ready.

I’m pretty sure Paul has FSN up there. I really wish I could join you guys.
April 23, 2013 at 11:54 pm #1165331Someone want to stick up for Pominville who the Kings are so obviously using to test the Wild’s support of their new teammate?
These refs are awesome. Horrible all f’ing game letting them get away with crap all game.
Hopefully Pominville has been an iron man for a reason.
April 24, 2013 at 12:14 am #1165343Wow, these refs deserve to be in the post season.
Right before the goal there should have been a holding behind the net.
Even though we are ahead, we need some mojo against the refs.
April 24, 2013 at 12:19 am #1165345Really nice to see Konopka back on the ice. He needs to get the under the skin of the other teams. I feel that’s one of the things they’ve been missing the past few weeks. Get under their skin and they’ll miss some coverages.
April 24, 2013 at 12:28 am #1165348Just saw the replay again and that goal is a direct result of Kopitar putting his arm around Spurgeon.
April 24, 2013 at 1:20 am #1165369Id rather finish 7th than 8th or 6th and play the Ducks. Get some confidence and get on a roll before playing Chicago or Vancouver. Ah who am I kidding, the Wild will lose 2 in a row and end up in ninth.
Hope Pominville is ok. We need Rupper back to for physicality.
April 24, 2013 at 1:29 am #1165372The Wild were throwing their weight around a little in the 3rd. The problem is, the way the refs were calling the game, and I use that term lightly, with a one goal game it could have turned out bad for us.
April 24, 2013 at 2:42 am #1165386I believe if the Blue jackets lose in regulation Thursday, the Wild are in the playoffs.
I can say that because the curse only applies to games the Wild are playing.
April 24, 2013 at 11:56 am #1165447Last night I had the choice of flipping between the Twins, Wild & NCIS. I chose the Twins & NCIS. Even this morning I feel good about my choice.

Only because your wife had the remote.
April 24, 2013 at 3:03 pm #1165510I only got yelled at twice. The first was for that beauty of a goal where Parise setup Coyle. I don’t remember the other time, but it was probably something the refs did, or should I say, didn’t do.

Official word from #mnwild is Pominville is day to day with upper body injury; too early to say on callup; update after Thurs practice
Lets hope he is OK. We need him.

I really hate complaining about refs, but that game was atrocious. I can’t think of a single game that I’ve seen with so many no calls of blatant penalties.
It’s called play-off hockey so along with the clutch N’ Grab the whistle gets swallowed quite a bit more on the physical cheap stuff. Poms was a target after he crossed check a Kings player in the face in the 1st period. No penalty was called.
Go Wild and get your play-off tickets now!!!!
Now that we are in the play-offs I say we take the Ducks out in 6!!!!
Go Wild!
