On my way home today, decided to take a scenic route Well, that ended up to be quite the cruise. I caught a few shots on the news last night of the lower fox river approaching the “100 Year mark” for a 2nd time in 5 years. I knew we had a lot of rain, but hadn’t really noticed it until today. Back road to my house closed! Road leading to the east of my house – Closed…Sheriff sitting on the next road closed making sure no one passed through the 3′ of water coming over the road there.
I know the media is the absolute Queen of Drama and embellish things to get ratings. In this very rare occurrence, I think they are under estimating the water around here. I don’t have the time to detail out info with the pics. There are a number of shots of my favorite coyote hunting grounds that are by NO means, low-land. Also, there isn’t a creek or river for about 3 miles from most of these shots.
Has me thinking a lot about this coming farming season. Realistically, many guys are only a couple weeks from starting to get early crop seed in the ground. Not happening around here and time soon.

That looks like what we had here yesterday at dawn on a couple creeks. Went over the same area today and you couldn’t see any water today.

Looks familiar, I think we are working on our 6th or 7th 100 year flood in the last 15 years in Moorhead.

Just drove by the rock river same. Looks like 2008. Boat landing is under there somewhere.
