A month ago I went to Amazon.com and looked at some Asic Kayano 19s. Ever since then, including here on IDO, All Amazon ads show the same kayano 19s. I don’t do a lot of shopping online so I’m sure this is common but how in the heck does that work?

I don’t know exactly how it works WBuster.
But it’s the cookies left on your computer. The itty bitty files is read and sees that you were looking for a product, it shows up in the ads.
I’m still getting Type I PFD’s from a couple years ago.
They just want to help you buy what you’ve been looking for.

When I access IDO at work there’s an ad of a Roman lady in a two piece and it’s very visible..it reads roman or_y..it doesn’t pop up on my screen at home.desperadoPosts: 3010April 17, 2013 at 5:10 pm #1163433amazon is the worst it seems. look at 1 thing on there and you’ll see the same product pop up in the ads for months. or until you clear your cookies. I got sick of looking at the same dewalt drill, I had to wip out the cookies. Now for some reason, I’m getting ads for Kentucky
April 17, 2013 at 7:59 pm #1163509Moxie – I see that ad too!! I clear my cookies and delete my browser history every day, so I see a huge hodge-podge of ads.
April 17, 2013 at 9:17 pm #1163522So how does that explain Meh? …and the faces ad I see for looking up crimial records? …and the dating women oveer 30 ad? I’ve never been to those sites before (although I was tempted/thought about it).

Oh how naive you are Splitshot. You think those science fiction movies/shows of technology gaining control is coincidence? Those shows are precursors to let us know what will happen. They are taunting us !!
Thanks to All Gore that technology The gram scheme their intent has come to fruition.
April 17, 2013 at 10:19 pm #1163530Most of the adds you see in the right sidebar here on IDO have an “X” in the upper right hand corner of the add. (Hover your pointer over the area) Click on the “X”. That particular add will be replaced by something else. Typically an entire new market. For instance, if you are seeing the Roman Orgy add, it may get replaced by an add for Disney vacations. Repeat until you like what is displayed. Or, get any decent add blocker and enjoy seeing nothing at all!
This is the Google message that will display after clicking on the X. I’m not sure how to update add preferences.

April 17, 2013 at 10:52 pm #1163537Read recently about how sophisticated these retail outlets are these days. Think its bad online, did you know that based on your shopping and buying patterns, retailers know your age, whether you have kids and their ages, hobbies, etc. And they can place ads in your newspaper inserts, or those that spit out at the cash register, or that can be emailed to you based on your data. And different from your neighbors.
No more blanket marketing, it’s all individualized down to a T. Scary really.

BurrPosts: 98April 18, 2013 at 8:09 pm #1163740You can fix the tires popping up all the time by doing a google and amazon search for string bikini. That will take care of it for ya.
