C.mon Cullen! Get healthy! We need you!

The little guys, Butch, Granlund and Spurgeon are having a decent game. This first line needs to start clicking.

Good news Grouse. Rally Cat says she is confident she can bring a win tonight!

Where has she been in April? We’ve needed her.

She probably should go to school for sports medicine after tonight.

I have this deep sinking feeling the Wild will wallow in their unfortunate injuries and miss the playoffs. Which, considering the curse of the pug might not be a bad feeling.

What happened to this team? Shut out 3 out of last 4 I think the announcer said. This feels just like last year.

They lost Heater and Cullen. That being said, Backstrom has played good enough to give you a win if you just score a couple goals. The big problem is we aren’t even getting the +1 loser point for getting it to OT.

We are fortunate that we play the Flames 2 times. The Oilers 2 times. And the Avalanche once. The problem is we still have to play those games. Not to meantion there is a 3 game road trip out West coming up and we have not faired well out west.

Agree we meed Cullen back, without cullen setoguchi has just disappeared. Heater is a big body that will be missed. For a team that cannot score why is Zucker not back?

There are a couple reasons. First, the Wild sent him down because they were getting the same production with Butch on that second line and in Houston he gets top minutes. Second, if they call someone up now, they use up the last of their 4 non-emergency call ups after the trade deadline.

Well Zucker is here now. I wish he wouldn’t have left. I was at game last night and had a really hard time watching Butch and Granlund get worked over down low. At one point in the third we had a face off right in front of us and it was amazing how much bigger St Louis was then us. I am just not sure we can win games in May and June with the little people.

I like the new line combos.

    Parise-Koivu-Coyle
When we picked up Pominville, I was kind of upset they took Coyle off that line. He’s less noticeable than the other two, but I think he is the perfect compliment to Parise and Koivu.

    Seto-Granlund-Zucker
I still think that Seto is going to struggle. We’ll see. He’s just such a perfect match with Cullen. You never know, maybe Zucker with his shoot first mentality will give Seto a lot of rebound opportunities, but that is not really his game. He’s a finisher. Granlund is looking better, but not good enough to be feeding these guys pucks all night.

    Butch-Brodziak-Pominville
This is an interesting combo. Not real high on it though. The one problem I have with Pominville is he doesn’t play in front of the net, he positions himself off to the side. I don’t see this as a great forechecking line. Maybe if Brodziak can create down low, they have a chance.

    Clutterbuck-Rupp-Mitchell
I think this line actually has a chance of potting some goals and creating a spark. Mitchell is just as pesky and fast as Parise, just not as skilled. Rupp and Clutterbuck can pound a line and get the other line off their game. Clutterbuck is more of a compliment in the offensive zone than the plodding Konopka.

So I think that the first and fourth line will step it up tomorrow. Hopefully the 2nd and 3rd just don’t give up any goals.

Once again proving I am a jinx or know nothing about hockey. Pominville scores tonight because he was at the side of the net, not out front.

For those of you still wondering about the Pominville trade, he’s got 4G 2A in 5+ games (tonight is the 6th). And we got him locked up next year. At 30 years old he’s in his prime.

Pominville looked good. Pug he did score out in front too! Amazing how much better we look with Cullen out there. Granlund needs to be taking notes.

I’d have to ask anyone who’s questioning the Pominville trade, how much more, exactly, were you expecting? 6 points in 6 games played and he’s clanked the crossbar or the post 4 times just that I’ve seen.

Overall, Pomiville has 14 total goals this season. Compare to our #1 goal scorer, Parise who has 15. So why anyone would be thinking Pomiville is a bad deal is beyond me.

I’m glad to see the #1 line put back where it was. The #3 could end up making a lot of sense for all the wrong reasons so I think it’s a fool’s errand to think to hard about it.

I’ll tell you one thing: I’m so glad that the Wild are on the last of the stupid time warp swings into The Late Zone.

Yes, Coyle is perfect with Koivu and Parise.

How many times next year do we play the other Western conference division teams?

Wild racked up the goals against Edmonton last night. Nice to see the offense hitting on all cylinders and goals out of 3 lines. And Grandlund hammers one home! The kid is allright.

Defense was good enough to win, anyway. Probably a little too relaxed when they went up 4-1, but whatever.

The Wild need to bring it all to the table against San Jose on Thrusday. One point up on St. Louis and 2 points down on San Jose in the West, they need to take charge with a win.

St. Louis plays the Coyotes, so the Wild can’t afford to lose one now.

The firepower is there, the goaltending is there, the D is solid if not stellar, NOW is the time to get it done. I can almost feel those playoff tickets in my hot little hand.

    Let’s go WILD!
