Been SNOWIN for over an hour and temp is down to 30.5 in Apple Valley (15 mi south of mpls).

Also had a few T-Storms and boomers thrown in.
    Brutal to say the least.
Next 2 days will be tough.

I’m just south of you Jack and we experienced the same thing. About 2 am we had lightning, thunder, high winds, and horizontal snow. I could hardly see the house behind me with the heavy snow and very strong wind gusts. I have only seen this type of weather a couple times in my life. I enjoyed the lightning and thunder as it’s a sign of warm days to come. Or at least we can hope….

No snow yet at Mille Lacs but they are saying “4 to 8” on the way.

For us…this winter weather is a blessing. Ice out will be delayed even more. And that means less time, if any, for the insanity to take place during the spawn.

Bring it on!! Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow……

Not a single flake in the Albertville area and north. But when I got to Rogers it started turning white. Just kept getting deeper the closer I got to Bloomington.

So much for golf this weekend… I was pretty sure BrianK would be joining me.

Rochester is still brown but I spoke with someone in Northfield and they have 1-2 inches of white. It can all go to Mille Lacs for Fellegy’s cause for all I care….I’m enjoying the brown we have right now.

12:45 AM we had window rattling thunder. The new pup (12 weeks)had never heard that before and started to whimper for his Mama! I enjoyed the light show…kids slept right on through it!

It’s all my fault On Monday I put away all the ice gear, took the snow blower attachment off the garden tractor and got the Harley out for a ride. Happens every year but you should be happy I didn’t wait until June to do that stuff.

    Mike,
I took mine out last week for only 30 miles, but it
still counts as the first ride of the year.

Heard on the radio that South Dakots may get up to 2 feet of snow. Lots of people without power because of the heavy ice storm buildup thats just happened, so much that thier light company spokesman said when the lines start dropping the ice they will jump and short out on the line next to it, lots of ice I guess. We’ve gotten about 4″ of rain in the last few days thats very much needed and believe it or not the rivers are doing ok now. The lightning hit a transformer next to where I was working and was out for a couple hours, lots of big lightning and thunder mostly all at night too but rain during the day. I just hope they don’t turn off the valve soon so theres water in the spawning areas during May for a good catfish bite…

My name is Jack, and I have been a Bass Fisherman for 50 years.

2-3 inches of ice in SW MN, 6-12 inches of new snow across central part of the state expected tonight and tomorrow.
ILL is having sever TStorms, and St Louis just had a tornado with much damage.
    Spring seems so far off.
Hope everyone is safe from the WX.

33 degrees and no flakes yet here in Hayward. Last nights forecast was calling for a 7:00 a.m. arrival…….looks like they may nail this one!

Rochester has about 1/2″ of wet slop on the walks and streets. Its 31 degrees right now and where the city has run the blades over the street it is now running with melt water.
