The Fed Fish and Wildlife stops all boat traffic from traveling upstream past the highbridge on the ‘Croix yet the Taylors Falls excursion boat sets at the Mullberry Point Marina in Stillwater all winter. I wonder, do they haul it back up and launch somewhere near the Falls?

I called about that the first year they put the zeeb stop at the high bridge because I grew up a half mile north of the bridge on the river. The answer they gave me was they move the boat when water temp us under 50 degrees because zeebs are dormant under that temp. The real kicker is all the money they spent on that stupid zeeb stop boat and people to man it, when after all the testing they discovered zeebs can’t survive in the warm sandy water north of stillwater anyway!
Gotta admit tho, the girls that staff the stop boat are cute. I’d go up just for the turn-around speech.
