State Senator Sean Nienow is my new hero (this week). He is introducing a bill to delay the build of the Vikings Stadium until the state of MN can get their act together and find the funding that was promised from the failed electronic pull tabs.

or someone who came up with the latest scheme to get re-elected & not really caring & knowing there is a snowballs chance in he77 of getting done. (yes I am a cynic when it comes to politicians)… how did he vote on the stadium proposal in the first place ???

I agree, someone with sense. I’m in a club that has pulltabs and here is what I know.

    1. the bars we have don’t want them, right now we are allow to pay the bars 20% of proceeds for rent, the electronic game is limited to 15%.
    2. more work for the gambling manager, instead of having to deposit the money 4 days after the game is pulled, its reduced to every 2 days.
    3. more work for the bartender, run the credit card, hand the machine out, take the machine back, charge it… not just take some cash and hand over tickets.
4 The bars need Internet, which none of ours do.

These morons “thought” the tax they take in was going to darn near double from what it was the last few years… WTF

Face it.. there was NO WAY the stadium was not going to pass, so they just made stuff up….. go figure???

What a blunder. Dayton should be thrown out of office for this. I’m all for renegotiating the stadium deal. But if this “Postponement” goes through, the NFL and the Wilf’s will sue this state into bankrupsy and win. The end result will make the original deal look cheap.

I am with G on this one. Nothing will happen with this. They will do what politicians do best, feign shock, blame others and kick the can down the road. Oh I forgot. They will also blame the other party.

Does Minnesota have the recall rule like Wisconsin? They did that last year to try and get a different Governor.

I have this feeling, that because of the recent purchase of two large Hotels by the Casinos in downtown St.Paul, and the current stadium funding issues. There could be some back door negotiations that will bind these two situations.

If I remember correctly, there was an agreement between the state of MN, and the Mystic lake Casino, that eliminates the possibility of a State run Casino in the Metropolitan area.

It seems to me that, that agreement laid the ground work and opens up the possibility of the Native Americans opening one or maybe two casinos here in the cities.

So my wondering eyes see Two casinos in play here for the Twin Cities. One would apease the Mystic Lake Casino in MPLS, and the other would apease the Mille Lacs band in St. Paul.

    Food for Thought anyways.

HA. But somebody tell me this.. Why is it so easy for people to hate on the Vikings but everyone loves the WILD. I think hockey is dumb,, and people that like it are dumb too . But I don’t bash them. (all asside from the each taxpayer having to put in 18cents of their own money for the stadium).

Minnesota is the state of hockey. That’s why everyone loves the “Goofers” and the wild. Its more action than watching the twins lose 100 games.

They should contact the White Earth Indians.

Didn’t they offer to build the Vikings a stadium for a block E casino.

Let the gamblers of the state pay for it, I’ll go fishing.
