Bought one of those Digger Anchors and was wondering what knot most guys use for a direct tie.

I use an improved clinch on both of mine and the only one I’ve lost is the one my son dropped into 40’of water with the 30’rope not tied off….

If you’ll be using it on the river I would use a chain between the rope and the anchor.

There’s a number of knots a person can use but they will all be better by securing the tag end with a couple of the larger size zip ties.

I just used a trilene knot and two zip ties. Yeah, I know it’s for mono, but it looks cool and works.

I use an improved cinch knots then tighten a small u bolts around the knot and wrap it all up with duct tape. Never lost an anchor using this method.

I braid the rope back to make an eye, then take a small shackle and connect the shackle to the rope and chain. To make sure the shackle doesn’t come apart you drill a small hole through the threaded end and put a cotter key through it. Nothing will break that connection and nothing will come untied.

Shackled to a length of chain and then a bowline knot to the mainline.

The Anchor bend is the knot I utilize as well as a spliced loop and always a section of chain. No cable ties required.

I use an Eye Splice. It will never come untied. Google animated knots.
