best cooler out there. My dad uses them in az for deer hunting and it keeps his ice in 90 degree plus heat up to a week. I use one here in the boat or for camping and ice will last. I have had my bottle water freeze in the cooler after being in it for a day. Well worth the money

My dad and I each have had the 35 for 2 years. He just picked up the taller 50 as well. Are they worth it? Yes once they are cold they hold ice a long time and even after it melts its still very cold inside the cooler. Another nice thing is that they dont slide around in the boat. A few of my buddies now after seen the cooler in action the last 2 years are buying themselves one.

If I had to buy all over again I would have went with the 45. I will now probably get the 50 instead like my dad did.

Good video. I think I will also stick with my coleman. I thouht I would like a Yeti but then again how many vacations do you take where you can’t get to a grocery store to buy a bag of ice. I can buy a lot of ice for the price of a Yeti.

In canada 2 years ago there were 3 families of us camping w temps of 90s 70s nights and we were buying 20 to 30 lbs of ice a day to keep all our stuff cold and make the water bottes ect cold it got quiet expensive. last year I bought a little freezer and my brother did the same, and took our frozen food up prefrozen, plugged it in at the camp ground and we froze water bottles every day and used them to cool stuff in the boat and drank them as they thawed out. We didn’t buy any Ice this year and we were there for12 days. way cheaper and w 8 kids and 7 adults thats alot of stuff.
off topic but poor coolers don’t keep suff cold very long at those temps!

Joe’s sporting goods had them on sale a ways back, about 40% off I think, good cooler for that price, otherwise a bit to spendy for me.

Does keep ice a long time though.

Watch this video on youtube. It compares all the big name coolers. Very informative test.

I think I’ll stick with my Coleman’s for a quarter of the cost of the Yeti’s.

Cant say I agree with the test. I have the coleman cooler as well and it eats ice. Once a yeti is cold it stays cold and ice last. Set these coolers out in the sun and see what happens to the ice. I for sure have cut my ice consumption down but almost 50% over the course of the summer.

I have owned one for several years, good investment, best cooler I own. Has stood up to almost daily use during the summer months.

Totally agree. Overpriced and over-rated by people being paid to “recommend” them.

    The are also incredibly heavy.

A good marine-grade cooler is a much better bet. I’ve had bocks of ice last over a week in a Gott Marine cooler. Keep it out of the sun and pre-cool or as other have mentioned even FREEZE your goods first so they don’t eat up your ice.

Top tip: Some brands of beer can be frozen without breaking the cans. It takes a little testing to get the combination of freezer temp right, but freezing beer, water bottles, etc is a great way to make ice last a long time where there is no option for more.

If you need to keep something cold over a longer period of time, do what guides/outfitters have always done and use dry ice.

or if you dont like doing all of that because it takes time and that costs you money as well, just buy a yeti.

Sure, if you want beer where the alcohol separates from the rest of the beer, or do you drink Coors?

We got the 65qt version, it was on sale or we probably would have passed, but now that we have it, I’m glad.

Tough enough to stand/sit on, no more annoying second or third trips to get ice, no frozen beer to deal with and you may have a convenient place to get dry ice but I don’t.

Ya, there’s cheaper and you can make do with that, but you could make do with a 14 foot boat and 25hp motor, I prefer not to.

Draw backs, yes it is heavy and it doesn’t slide like my Igloo coolers do.

Would I buy another, yup.. on sale though.

I could care less what cooler you guys have as long as the beer you offer me is cold.

What could a guy “hope” for as far as a sale price on one of these?

Another option to consider would be Brute Outdoors. They appear tough and are priced a little more economically.

I’m pretty sure it was 40% off, end of season sale.
I’d see if they have a spring sale maybe.

I see Grizzly has a cooler similar to the Yetti, I have not looked at either really close but here is a link.

They even have Brian K color to match his sweatshirts! Real men wear pink and carry a pink cooler

And made in the USA, Iowa doesnt get more USA than Iowa!

According to the testing in the video, sounds like one should get an Engle or IRP….? But really, the Coleman had ice in it after 8 days, much the same as all the others did, except the Igloo.

I would agree with the IRP cooler – which happens to now be what we know of as a Grizzly. IRP – has been making professional-grade coolers for quite some time. First time I used one was over 6 years ago for a hunting trip. I used Three different Grizzlys all last season and was extremely impressed.

What I like about them over a “traditional” cooler is that you can stand on them when fishing – mine lines up fairly even with the “lids and Livewell decks” in the back of my boat – and that is just the start of how durable they are. (Lifetime Warranty) I’ve had them hold Ice for well over 11 days.
