I didn’t think it would be bad this year, but the melt has exposed an unusually high number of turds. Looks like a 2 hour job at least. Time to get the old shoes on one of these days to pick up land mines, while trying avoiding stepping on one. Probably the only bad part of spring.

Floyd only poops in the yard when it’s an emergency. This is somewhat annoying at times, but the upside is that I don’t have to do spring poop-cleanup!

Ha! I knew you’d be the first responder!

Our dogs crap 5 minutes into their walks. However, its been a long winter of putting walks off. Before that Michelle always seemed to have a flared up knee or back. This spring we are getting these fat pooches out for their physical and mental health.

Our female pom is overweight to the point she seems to be developing a minor limp.

I hate kenneling dogs and having set feeding times. We may have to change the feeding times for their health. Having food always available is not good for some dogs, especially ones who use it for comfort.

The South side is cleaned up. Not many out there. But the North side, where his “spot” is might require heavy equipment and a mine sweeper. Going to have to wait until the ice/snow yields a bit more.

The FW and I were out on Saturday late afternoon. Ground was still froze and so were the tootsie rolls.

Mornings are the best time, but who wants to do that before going to work?

Looks like a three bag of charcoal year this year. Ol’ fire pit is going to be a blazing!

A fenced-back yard makes it real easy to just let the dog out to run around instead of walking…seems to happen a lot in the winter…makes spring not so wonderful. I have learned over the years to just give it a couple extra days in the sun to dry out. Seems to reduce my chances of barfing.

I can pick them up when they are frozen to the ground Brian.

I really hate the real old ones that are deteriorating. I like a nice clean pick up, not one where it smears and I have to scrape it up.

On a side not, I got mines in the backyard and booby traps in the front. I think the mole turned the front into a cave, not just tunnels.

Still fully covered in snow. Launched a couple with the snowblower the other day. I suppose I will have to make my son get after it sooner or later.

On behalf of all non-pet owners who have to put up with the wretched stench of unthawing dog craps in the spring of all our neighbors animals, CLEAN IT UP!!!!!!!!!!

I attempted to pick as they went. However the constant snows screwed me. I see more and more “gifts” showing up daily with the melt.

I have three french bulldogs. They used to be poop machines. For health reasons, we have switched them to a raw diet. Freeze dried, actually. We are using a product called Sojos. The dogs love it. Their health and coats are really good and their waste is minimal. You’d think it would not make that much of a difference but, it sure does seem to! As you can see, Satch sure likes it!

I keep on it all winter. No way with a big Rottie letting it go. Guy craps 3 times a day. And not little tootsie rolls either! So far, only missed a couple.

I have conquered the enemy where the snow has melted but their forces remain strong in the snow pac.

The snow went away and revealed a target rich environment. The fenced in yard catches a lot of poop.

My dogs don’t crap in the yard. Never trained them to do that but the last 3 have done this which I am happy with . Sometimes when up north they run next door to my sisters house and crap in her yard though

My lab poops in tall grass, the woods, or if no other options next to a tree. Usually she holds out until we get to the woods next to our house, but occasionally she goes in the yard. The spot she picked is where I pile leaves and grass next to some lilac bushes. Spring clean up involves flipping some old leaves onto the land mines. Now if I could train her to not make yellow spots all over the yard.

That one took me a long time, but I finally succeeded. I have a strip of woodchips on the side of the house that he uses for a pee spot. Much better. To anyone that tries to tell you that only females leave dead spots, that is complete BS.

Most of the time they went out into the field, the rest get taken out by the lawn mower

The wonderful thing about snow is that it covers up all of the turds and makes everything look pristine again.

I wonder how many full garbage bags of crap I’m going to have this spring.

Our friends have 2 Frenchies too and they are on the raw diet too for health reasons. Well, just one of them has health issues.

Yeah, I could do that too, but it gets removed by my dog trying to reclaim any undigested nutrients!

I have vowed to keep on the poop patrol daily once I do the initial clean up. I am talking even in the winter.

Now that it is nicer and I am walking my dog again it amazes me how much poo people don’t pick up when they walk their dogs. We spend a lot of time avoiding the landmines. It does make me wonder who thinks they are so important they don’t need to clean up after their dog.

Yeah, mine tries and sometimes succeeds at that too

Is that just a small dog thing?
