    Instead of hiding the true cost of the phone by subsidizing the phone cost with the rate plan, they’re separating out the rate costs from the phone costs. You can pay for the phone in installments or all upfront. There is otherwise no contract. You can cancel at anytime, but if your phone isn’t paid off then you still owe the remaining cost.

    They’re also getting the iPhone.

    The previous posts seem to knock this change, but I don’t understand why. The plans will be cheaper because of this because they aren’t subsidizing the cost of the phone.

    My phone bill actually went down $25
