Never watched an episode of DD til now..The best show I’ve seen in a long time. Phil and Si’s comments are hillarious!! They make squirrels look appetizing.

I’ve been watching Double D since it’s inception, and everytime I watch it I laugh so hard I’m brought to tears

I think the stuff that comes out of Uncle Si’s mouth is priceless

The other thing that comes to mind everytime I watch it is, I hope for my nephew’s sake that I don’t turn out like Uncle Si

If nothing else, it gives you hope that even guys that look like cavemen can succeed.

The one question I have is do Phil and Kaye really live in that old house?

I like the first season better where the production was a little rougher. The interviews were done outside, not a studio or studio set up.

I thought the week of monitor episode and the one where John Luke broke up with his girlfriend were kind of weak. I was beginning to wonder if they had new writers. The rest from this season have been pretty good.

Its kind of like that band you like when they are rough and not popular. Then they land a big label deal and the music changes.

Don’t get me wrong, I still love the show, but I wish they would go back to how they shot the original episodes in season 1.

So who is everyone’s favorite after Si? I love Jase and his deadpan delivery.

If you could fish with just one member of the Dynasty outside of Si, who would it be? I’d go with Jase. My surprising second choice would be Godwin. That guy cracks me up.

They were buffalo and he gill netted them. Not much fishing there.

I’d fish with Phil no doubt… But that is because I’m a duck hunter and have been watching his videos since the very first one. Been a fan of Phil all my life.

First choice would be a tough one between Jase and Phil

My surprising second would be Mountain Man; especially for sitting in an icefishing shack all day …. THAT guy cracks me up

I always tell Nicole how I get a kick out of Jase’s interviews.

Phil and Kay may live in that house. Hard to say. Talk about living under your means. Phil’s Net Worth

I think Si is probabaly gonna be most everyone’s first choice, He’s deffinately mine

2nd would have to be Jace cause he’d be really fun to hang out with

3rd would be a tie between Willy and Phil

I don’t know why, but Phil kind of bugs me. Although I do think it is funny when he tries making a deal with Miss Kaye for “rough sex”.

I know a couple guys that have been down to the shop. I have never been there so this is all second hand. But its a mob of people there most of the week (fans & curiosity seekers). They have to clear out large areas and blockade the road to the shop & houses when filming. So far they have done a pretty good job of managing the crowd for the show’s sake. You very seldom see an editing mishap with a crowd in the background.
One of the guys I know is a manufacture’s rep and was there on business. He said Phil is a straight shooter and absolutely NO bs at all. Very tough business man. Willie is still learning a lot from Phil that you don’t see on the show. From what terry explained to me, Phil is, as exactly what you see on TV. Drove up to their meeting in an older truck, dressed as casual as Phil is, and didn’t waste any time. When terry asked about the show and small talk, he was cut right off and was back to business. He said over all, some of the nicest people you could ever hope to do business with.

I got a chuckle out of seeing the Miss Kaye’s cooking DVD at Cabelas last weekend. She must be doing good with it. The pegs were sold out in two days.

I love it at the end of every episode they end with grace at the table and it comes across that they’re down to earth genuine people. I teared up on the last episode of season 1..funniest so far. Now on to season 2

I am going to take a wild guess and say that they insisted on a scene at the end with a little prayer. I can’t imagine A&E came up with the idea or would want to have a couple minutes dedicated to that at the end.

    Duck Commander in 2009

Did they buy this location after 2009? Looks abandoned?

The factory shown on the show is just the television factory. Used for taping and where the guys hang out when at work. They own several other factories where 99% of the duck calls are built. They employ something like 75 duck call builders full time. Had to hire 40 more after airing the first episode.

Its not just hunters buying the calls, anything duck commander is being bought by show fans that have never stepped outside their subdivisions.

What little I know about the bayou is most of the gentry have camps, camp houses and other odd structures on there land. They usually have something nice up by the hard road to make wife happy though.

Good show, too bad they don’t show more duck blind humor tho. I did like Phils story about Bradshaw backing him up at QB when he was a sophomore in college. Hoping it’s just a matter of time before Terry makes his Duck Dynasty debut, now that would be good tv

DD has become out “family” show. Good values and they are a typical family at heart. My 2 yr old is now a ZZ top fan too!

Hands down Phil would be the one to spend a day with fishing. Then Phil and Miss Kaye for a meal. Than Jase. Willie and Si in a portable shanty by them selves and set up with another portable just in ear shots distance ( grumpy old men wouldn’t hold a candle to that setup).

Thanks, that makes sense. Otherwise taping the show would get in the way of work.
