Anyone else tired of white?

Last night the weather dude said something about maybe 1/2 to an couple inches of this white crap again for today and I had about four inches to clear. I’m getting tired of white. Man I’d love to hear some thunder and have this crap go away for the year and show us some good old fashioned spring mud. Nightcrawlers on the sidewalks work for me right about now. Anything but this white color, over and over every other day. Bring on the brown.

Still nothing good in the extended outlooks. It is kind of neat seeing how the snow is melting with the strong sun beating down on it. All around they look like glaciers where they are warming from the grass or driveway and the edges are slowly falling away.

Yea I hate it when I have to shovel 6 inches of “partly cloudy”. Soft water can’t get here soon enough. The boat looks mighty lonely sitting in hibernation.

Aaaaak. You bunch of wussies and Calafornicating girlie men.

Real Minnesotans do not complain about the weather. There is no such thing as bad weather, only poor choices of clothing.

Why don’t you crawl back into your heated reloading room and start pressing some primers. Don’t you have a couple thousand to press?

Ha! I was doing just that, only I was doing it outside wearing only a loincloth. Too hot inside.

    Unless you’re a big wussie.

Not only tired of this stuff its stopping the frost coming out of the ground and I have a lot of work lined up and the frost is preventing me from doing the work. Just did a job jack hammering out 2 10’x10’x5′ holes and that was not fun and have 2 more to do later this week.

I’m ready for the sun to burn the frost out too(and melt the snow). The frost is less than 2 feet I would guess. I was able to dig thru it with a backhoe on wednesday. Even tho the snow insulates the top of the frost, the ground is around 50deg at 3-4 ft. The ground heat is thawing from the bottom up. Won’t be long now…I hope.

I often wondered how the frost effected the big backhoes. The small one we used just couldn’t cut the mustard and the holes had to be dead on at 10’x10’x5′. The frost line was at 36 inches but that was under pavement.

It is hard waiting but I believe that a nice gradual cool spring gives the best success ratios for walleye eggs.

I am sick of the white stuff too. But I will take the snow or rain over the freezing rain we had this morning. I had to take the garbage/recycling to the curb this morning. I parked over to far last night and had to pull out of the garage to get the cans out. I got out of the truck and noticed it was very icy. I took my time to carefully bring each container to the curb as I could skate on the driveway. I get back to the garage to take a peek to see if I missed anything and then start walking to the truck only to see it sliding down the driveway right for the cans. I shuffle off quickly with visions of getting in it to stop it. The truck hit a patch where I spread some salt the night before and came to a quick tire chirping stop. I didn’t and proceeded to hit the truck and have my feet fly out from under me landing right on my tailbone. My first reaction was to get up and look around to make sure none of my neighbors saw my comedy act.

Needless to say, it’s a little uncomfortable sitting in my office chair today.

We had a lot of rain and was near 50 yesterday. 44 now and going towards 50 today too. Still some snow on the ground here but hopefully it will be gone by this afternoon. Thinking about throwing some moxies this afternoon, with the river 4 foot high and muddy I probably wont catch a thing but its worth a shot right?

When I dropped off the girls this AM the school parking lot was treacherous too. Surprisingly my commute wasn’t too bad. Hope the tuckus heals fast but I’d pay a lot see a video…

Yeah, if one of the neighbors shot a video of the incident it would have made it’s way to AFV. I think the tailbone will heal faster than the ego.

Here is a link to the Frost Depths in Minnesota. I’d like to get started on building a garage but need the frost gone. Hopefully before the end of the month.
