What ever happened to Steve? Does he guide anymore? Is he still fishing tournaments anymore? Anyone ever see him on P2 or P4 anymore?
I’ve not seen any written articles on him and have not seen anything mentioned about him. He seemed to be at a peak a few years back and was everywhere in the fishing industry.
I used to see him a lot on P2. …Does he even fish it anymore? I had the pleasure to meet him once on P2. He always had something good to say and his writiings here (on IDO) were always very informative.
I hope he is doing OK. It would be nice to see him on the water again too. (I’ve not seen the jet-boat in a couple of years )

Steve is doing great. He’s got a couple happy, healthy kids that keep him busy. He gave up guiding more than a few years ago now. Primarily he focuses on smallies fishing the Upper Miss in his River Pro but he still fishes all over the midwest and Ontario for walleye, bass and the occasional laker on trips with buddies. He does a tournament now and then for smallies on the Upper Miss… and usually does quite well. AS for the “professional” side of fishing I hope I’m not speaking out of turn here but I believe he considers himself retired.

I’m really glad I had the opportunity to share the boat with him while he was guiding

Super nice guy, and he taught me a ton about P2

    Glad to hear it.
I do however, miss reading his fishing banter and seeing pics of his huge P2 fish.
Man! …That guy could regularly pull some pigs out of that river.

He also has a couple of younger yellow labs to replace Bailey! We only live a few miles apart and yet w/ the busyness of life we hardly connect!

    Hey fellas!
Its been quite awhile since I have been back on here.
Thanks for all the kind words. As James has mentioned, my family keep me quite busy, but still find time to get out quite a bit. Only now, I find myself chasing different bites on different bodies of waters, and having a blast doing it! Hope you all are doing well and boating your fair share of fish.
Sure made a lot of great friends here.

    How the heck is everybody?

Come one now… you do just fine in the crazy department on your own. I wasn’t even there for the broken ribs.

Good to see you around. I have you penciled in for those lakers late summer.
