It’s better to get the loss out of their system now before the playoffs.

They have some injuries now too. Not to make excuses but doesn’t help. Was bound to happen sooner or later.

It was a real positive for the NHL, the publicity of the streak was good for hockey. In reality everybody (even die hard Blackhawk fans) knew that they wouldn’t go undefeated. I remember all the buzz around baseball the year the Tigers went 33-5 or some ridiculous thing to start the season.

Blackhawks are a fun team to watch and also have the best logo in sports. Although that also maybe in danger. I saw in the paper where they are going after the Washington Redskins about their name again. First the Fighting Sioux, then the Redskins, how far behind can the Blackhawks be?

I had a feeling playing back to back with those injuries was going to make it tough for Chicago, although Hossa played when I thought he wasn’t. Patrick Sharp is a tough player to replace. He’s out 3-4 weeks.

Good on the Blackhawks though who have made a lot of people forget that half the season wasn’t even played. The NHL needed a story like this, just like Brian said.
