Just got my bill for Charter $202. I know this was brought up not to long ago on here, but this is ridiculous. Called them and asked why I was no longer getting promotion discount and they said my 2 years was up. The Lady said she would look and see what she could do. Came back on phone and said she could get me the same service I have tax and all for $149 and that is with an upgrade of my modem to 30 mbps. I feel sorry for the people that don’t take the time to call. I got somewhat the same deal by calling Garbage company also. So it does pay to call.

Charter is a complete rip off! HD service is garbage looks like my standard def service now, and their Internet is like a roller coaster. Glad I dumped that outfit and found better service and pricing.

Chirp, just run out to the office behind the theater on West Circle Drive and have a chat. Better than the phone and they will work with ya.

Charter …Over a 100 channels and still NOTHING worth the monthly bill to watch

They move all the good shows so high up in the channels it forces you to get every package available just to watch 1 hour of tv a week.

    SCAM !!!!!!

    I ‘done now

It does pay to call. But yeah…charter sucks. I get basic so I can afford more lures. And beer.

I second Shockers. I borrow his lures and on occasion drink his beers. And to make a long story short… if Mr. and Mrs. Charter walked up to me right now I would punch them both right in the mouth.

I’m done. Purchased a cheap antenna (<$50) and put it in the garage attic. I get all the local channels. For what we watch even $80/mo (extended Basic) was too much. They lost me when they switched the Golf Channel & Speed (and QVC for my wife which she likes to watch and very rarely buys) to requiring a $5/mo/per tv box even if you had uptodate HDTVs.

WIsh I knew how to swet talk like you guys. I got nowhere on the phone and then took Tom’s advice and went out to the office. That got me nothing also. I was going to add the phone to get a deal and what they offered was not. Another month or so and I’ll be dropping the TV. And I wish I had an internet option but nothing compares to Charter despite the rollercoaster speed issue.

as a charter customer for years, they’ve done the same thing to me every year or 2 until Uverse was available in our area. I was going to stick with charter but they wouldn’t give me a deal even though I told them I was going to cancel since other providers were running specials and I’d save a bunch of cash by going with someone else. The person I talked to didnt seem to care and nor did I since I had been searching for other providers and was interested in Uverse. I called them up, got a great rate, a $250.00 Visa and a 1 year contract. Set up the appt., called Charter to cancel and oh man were they back-pedaling. At one point, they offered me whatever their new customer deal was at that time… I asked why I wasnt offered that back when I called before and got nothing but the run around. After a year, I’ve been nothing but completely happy with UVerse, with the exception of not getting the fishing network. It’s available in their premium hd tier, but having every other channel known to mankind, I couldn’t see paying the extra for 1 channel that I’d watch.

Centurytel does the same thing and you have to call to get your “discounts” reinstated.

I wonder how many people never call and just pay the bill?

That’s what I said to the wife last night. You know they are still making money on there promo price that I got and there making that much more on the people that don’t call. I wish there was some competition for Charter besides the satelites in Rochester. I will be interested to see how much faster the new modem they are sending me will be. I have 15mbps now and am getting 30mbps from them.

HBC is getting very close to Rochester, as close as Eyota, not sure if they can get into Rochester or not but it sure would be nice to see Charter have some real competition for once!

The PB had a blurb last week or so that said the Charter noncompete contract is up next year. Contact your council person soon to let them know what you think. Either that or we have to quit complaining
