Half my breakfast is in the trash still attached to the shell.

Do you “shock” them after your done boiling? I always dump the hot water and cover them with cold water as soon as I can. It’s always easy peeling for me

also use eggs that are a few days old. the key is breaking down the membrane under the shell. bath in ice water immediately after boiling. when you are ready to eat roll the egg gently but firmly in your hand and it should loosen up.

i eat hard boiled eggs for breakfast 80% of the time and have done so for 2 years.

I could tell you what I told my roomate one time when he asked how to hard boil eggs. Just boil them and when they float they’re done. I never did ask him how long that took.

Use older eggs. Add a little salt to the water when boiling. If they still give you fits, before peeling, crack them open. Peel off the area where the hollow spot is. Then soak them in cold water for a couple minutes.

Use a spoon. lightly crack the shell all around the egg, then work the spoon under the shell.i usually start on the narrow end where there is an air pocket. most of the time you can remove the shell in 1 piece.

Jeff, you would have trouble peeling a banana.

Salt the water and bring water and eggs to a boil. Once you have a boil set the timer for 10 minutes. You will have easy peel, perfectly done eggs. All you need then is pepper and Tabasco.

That’s the technique the little lady uses for perfect eggs every time.

Yes but are they nice and yellow inside with this method or soon to be green?

They are yellow. I wouldn’t eat a green egg yolk.

We put eggs in cold water. Bring to full boil for a couple minutes. Cover remove from heat. let stand for 15 min. Rinse under cold water and peel while warm. Make sure you cover the eggs with an inch of extra water before boiling.

nothing but a little salt on my eggs. I can’t imagine how my burps would be with hot sauce on it.

Yep, yellow. That’s why I said perfect eggs. No dark layer around the yolk.

Seems everyone has their own Technique, however I will add one more. First off leave the eggs in the refrigerator for a week to ten days after purchasing them. Then put them in a pan and cover them with water. Bring the water to a boil and remove from heat and cover for 15 minutes. Once the timer goes off drain them and put cold water on them until they are cool enough to handle. The eggs will be perfect every time and if you crack them on the end the shells will come right off. Fresher the eggs the worse they peel. The longer you boil them the greener they get.
