    Evening all,

I just picked up a ’99 Sportsman from CL. Runs great, but I can’t figure out what the three-holed jack is for on the right side next to the speedometer. Anyone have any ideas?

    Thanks!

without a pic I am guessing Its an outlet for the winch remote. Is it about the size of a 12 volt cig lighter? If so thats what it most likely is.

I’d call whoever you bought it from and ask him/her.

It’s a 12 volt power source. Some of the older atv’s had them. Don’t know why they just didn’t use regular cigarette lighter plugs.

Yes, it’s the size of a cigarette lighter, but that outlet (i.e. cell phone charger) is on the other side of the head unit. There is a winch, but that control is above the starter button. This one has me stumped. I suppose it could be a jack for a remote winch control

most winchs come with the in/out switch that is usually mounted on the handle, they also come with that outlet with a remote on a 6-8 ft cord.
