For shouting in the basement after the Parise goal when the little lady was napping on the couch upstairs. Oh, well. She’ll get over it.

What???? I can’t believe you married a Flames fan, Pug. Have you no standards?
Grouse
February 27, 2013 at 2:51 am #1146197You’ll be sleeping in the dog house come playoff time. And I can imagine how small those pug houses are.

Worst Pro Game????? Lack of Offense Yes I agree, but the Wild did an amazing job with the Penalty kill. Double minor and a 5 minute major in the 2nd, is almost half of the period shorthanded. That is what kept them in the game for a chance to tie in the 3rd.
I agree the power play needs soome work, but they are getting closer with several posts again last night.February 27, 2013 at 3:08 pm #1146351The PP looked a lot better last night. You’d think the law of averages would mean they would at least score on one of those just by pure chance. At least they are moving the puck and taking one timers (Spurgeon) opposed to taking the pass at the point, fiddling with the puck and then shooting.
That many penalties does really kill the flow of a game, especially if no one is scoring on them.
I like those moments when you can almost feel what is happening. Kind of like when you feel impending doom resulting in a goal when they start scrambling. Well, during that 5 PK, you could just feel they were determined to shut them down.
Backstrom’s performance should have been exciting.
February 27, 2013 at 3:39 pm #1146362I caught the last few minutes of the 3rd and the OT. Pretty cool to see them win in that fashion. Now if I just understood the game….

Backstrom made a handful of great saves to save the game. The penalty kill unit did spend a lot of time on the ice but it was really hard to tell if the kill was good or if the Flames are that pathetic. I’m leaning towards pathetic. I was there last night, had I been a season ticket holder of those seats at $88.00 per ticket I would have booed them for 3/4 of that game. At one point they were being outshot 11-4 in the first period, and that’s at home against a team (Calgary) looking for any reason to quit and mail it in for the night.
There were 4 ovations all night…
1) When they took the ice for the game.
2) When they announced the Gopher final score.
3) When Zucker scored.
4) When Parise scored. (both times)
Other then that the highlight of the game was the guy singing the National Anthem.
It may have looked different on TV, but this game was sloooowwwwww.
February 27, 2013 at 6:44 pm #1146480You are just a negative Nancy. Typical Minnesota sports fan.
The game will feel slow when there are that many penalties.
That’s why I don’t spend $$$ on tickets, because I don’t want to ever feel gipped.
February 27, 2013 at 6:58 pm #1146490Negative Nancy here…………….
I’m still looking for one person who was at the game who said it was exciting or he77, even entertaining.

I wasn’t there, but I did get scolded. And it wasn’t because I was whaling in agony.
I can see where you are coming from though. Like you, I’d have been ticked to have paid $80, much less $20 to see that game live.
