Well how small of cranks are you looking to throw? 1/4 oz cranks can easily be throw with a baotcaster but you need the correct one with the right spool to do so. I.e curado or chronarch50 or diawa alpha or sol. Each of these will run you 150$+ give or take. You really will get what you pay for in the sub 100$ reel baitcast class. A graphite frame is commonly used on cheap casting reels and when under a load, the frame will flex amd cause it to not work correctly over time. You could probably find a used citica200e on ebay for around 100$.

Lews speed spool are probably the best reviewed bait casting reel around that $100 range. I got one late last season, so I can’t give much of a review on it yet, but check out tacklewarehouse.com for reviews.

I’ll throw a vote in for lews. Great reel for the price range.

What about the revo series? I plan on buying the revo SX when I get the chance, heard a lot of good things about them.
