My aunt gave me a Nexus 7 tablet because she wasn’t able to use it. I was wondering what fishing and hunting apps should I get to use? I would think the screen size would be big enough. What other apps do you regularly use?

Found that out. Why is that? It’s Android 4.2. Any other apps that would be good for the Miss. pools 4,5,5a and 6. Thanks

Want to do this myself. In reading, it sounds as though the map has to be installed on the device, much like installing new maps on a Garmin for your car. The Navionics App typically uses 3G to update the map on a smartphone as you move, and the GPS inside is used to get your “position” on the updating map. It sounds as though Google maps can be “saved” to a device and then the GPS can show you where you are.

Perhaps Navionics, Lakemaster, or other marine map source is working on this. Perhaps not.

Would love to hear of anyone’s experience in using a tablet (without cellular) for outdoor activities. If you have a tablet with 3G/4G built in, then the Navionics app is good to go.

I have the new nexus tablet and transferred navionics from my phone using airdroid. Works fine as the new nexus has a standalone gps. Not sure about the original

No. I am questioning why people say they can’t install it on the tablet when I was able to.

Cool. Now if I could just get Navionics (and many others) to create the app for Windows Phone, I would be set!
