To me, there are a couple of reasons.
Many police officers own their firearms. Why should officer X, Y,&Z be entitled to purchase a firearm that they may use also for personal recreation, and we general public of NY) are excluded – even if they have more training and more mentally competent than an individual officer?

A crooked cop can just as easily sell it as easily as a dealer sells crack.

It empowers the state to dis-arm citizens by restricting the means of which they can protect themselves.

If other manufactures jump in and unite, it sends a clear and uniform message to the over-hyper politicians that over-reacted. The problem isn’t the firearms; its the nut cases that use any weapon including a car when they are drunk driving.

LaRue Tactical did the same thing. They are limiting Law Enforcement to the same weapons they allow their residents to purchase.

Olympic did the same, as well.

Of course, they’re all following in Ronnie Barrett’s footsteps.

Not taking sides here by any means, but….I could see a foreign company stepping in and filling the void here.

That would probably be a pretty nice contract for some company!

Joel, you have a very valid point. Unfortunately that is just one more issue that needs to be resolved in this country. If people & companies unite to express their views, their credibility or merit is tossed to the wind because someone else can just take the money over seas. But that aside, you would hope that the politicians come to their senses before opting for that. Its a risk, like so many other things
