This is a pretty big problem. I didn’t use the link provided, but the natural(?) way to dispose of medication is to flush it down the toilet. Out of site out of mind. People don’t want to put pills in the garbage in case someone would happen upon them.

Toilet is fast and easy without any chance of recovery. And they all end up in our rivers.

Wasn’t it recommended to place pills in a plastic bag, add water to dissolve the capsules or pills, then use the trash?

Goodness with everything pushed on us Americans daily how will any form of disposal be sufficient. Most rx drugs have an expiration of 1 year. But who knows.

Pharmaceuticals in waters and their biological effects are a hugely understudied problem. It may not even due to direct disposal of pills down the toilet-you often find these chemicals (or their broken down components) in the urine of people taking them.

Things dont magically dissapear like it seemed they use to. Everything we make or use or concentrate goes right back to the same planet we live.

All this and more will haunt our futures.

ps-Wow! that sounded pretty negative didnt it?
