I heard about that earlier. Didnt really pay much attention, but from what I had heard the entire team had made a pact to score on themselves to lose the game in protest to their coach. That is why the teammates cheered in the video.

WOW is all I have to say. I have helped Coach High school hockey in Rochester and have seen some bizarre things happen, but never anything like that. What away to let your team down and make your school look real bad.

If the team was for it, job well done. I’ve known too many High School sports coaches that are complete a-holes. There are many good ones too, but it seems that it is not always about or for the kids, it is about the coaches.

Looks like spectators and not teammates that were cheering. I believe the article said that he flipped off his bench where the coach and teammates were.

We are speculating on reason/cause. But I could never imagine in my life not staying true to the sport I was playing. If you have differences with a coach or other players – take it up with them off the field, no on.

He flipped off his coach. Do a couple searches, there is info out from the teammates saying what really happened. That writer did not tell the correct story and did not even ask any of the teammates or the coach what really happened before he wrote up the wrong info.

These days the media is the last place you want to get information, seems its always tweaked to get the most viewers and never tells the correct story.

I was a very good soccer play back in the day. I was voted best defender my freshman, sophomore and junior season. The varsity coach hated my brother, but didnt know me very well. He was not happy that I went to wrestling nationals instead of playing summer soccer.

Before my senior season, the varsity coach moved the 2 best forwards to defense, tried me at midfield. None of us had played those positions since elementary school.

He decided I wasnt a varsity level midfielder, so I was asked to play on the JV defense. I chose not to play soccer that season I feel like something was taken from me.

So, what I am trying to say is that I dont agree with what this guy did, but I understand.

    Agree 100%.

I am wondering how many teammates were happy with losing that game?

I bet his parents are just beaming with pride!

I once knew a coach, who only wanted to win. He would leave the starters in, despite being WAY ahead of the other team… finally, some of the starters said to him, maybe you should play some of these other guys that “practice” with us all week, to get ready for these games…. Didn’t work too well Maybe a stunt like this would have helped ???

I thought it was pretty awesome (and funny). I don’t know the details at all but I must say. This kid understands “go big or go home” very well. Cudos to him for making a very strong statement for something he obviously felt passionate about.

According to him, he did take it up with the coaches several times. Also according to him, he asked some of his teammates before hand and they were fine with it.

Now I did a quick search of Farmington’s stats. Not sure why he thinks he should get more starts, he sucks.

I thought that Krausebaby had not had a start or very few starts all year and they were patronizing him by starting him. I guess that’s why you don’t assume.

I hated my coach Junior year of football. That a-hole blackballed me that year and had about 2 or 3 passes thrown my way all year. Even so, I played every play out and would think of tarnishing my reputation or embarrassing my team with antics like that. If anything, I took my frustrations out on the opposing team.

Hey, if DaveB can relive his glory days, so can I.

That was pretty much the most immature, selfish act I’ve ever seen on any sort of field of play and that includes watching Randy Moss play. Maybe he and AJ Barker can cry on each others shoulders.

BTW I’d like to see what would happen if would have played for Edina, Hill Murray or Roseau.

Selfish for who? His team was backing him the whole way. It was a protest against the coach.

I watched that yesterday, I think the video is hilarious and a great way to tell your coach off. However one of the most immature and unsportsmanlike think I have ever seen in High School Sports. Again freakin’ hilarious wish I could have been at the game to see it live and watch the coach’s reaction.

Was the whole team backing him? Maybe they all should have just decided to not suit of for the game if the coach is such an issue. I guess that doesn’t get you on youtube though. My bet is that most of the players wanted to play and wanted to win. This one crybaby decided to make a statement and he apparently did just that.
