Just saw a report that the Vikings are looking to trade Percy. Unless they get a good QB, that would be a mistake.

They wont get a good qb for harvin. Nobody would trade a good qb for a always hurt, and always complaining percy harvin. Troubled WR’s like percy dont normally carry too much value. At best i would say is a 2nd rounder or 2 3rd round picks.. which is what miami got for brandon marshall (who is better than percy)

According to Sid “The-U-Know-What” Hartman, he’ll bring a 1st pick in 1st round. draft

    Just quoting what I heard.
We sure don’t want him over on this side!

Your QB needs more talented receivers, not less!!! I understand criers gotta go, but Ponder needs more help from his teammates on the field.

I dont see how percy could bring in a first rounder, when marshall could only bring in a few 3rds. I dont know, we will see i guess!

Very true, however…I think with a sub-standard arm like Ponder’s, we need talented BIG receivers. Percy is a cancer in the lockerroom and towards the coaches. Add that to the fact that without restructuring his contract, we wont see him take the field this year. Move now while we can!

Normally that might be true. But in Harvins case he quit on the team. He didn’t show up at practice or games after he was hurt. In fact if we believe everything we hear the coaching staff didn’t even know where he was.

When healthy and wanting to play I believe Harvin has more value the Marshal does, however they are two different kind of receivers so it’s a moot point anyway. If they can get a 3rd round pick I think they will deal him.

I agree, the best thing the vikings can do in this situation is bring in the big possession receivers. Give ponder a big body to throw too, makes accuracy much less important. Exactly what chicago did for cutler. Im just not sure what WR’s there are that they can bring in this year, the bigger possession receivers seem to be diminishing.. not nearly as many around it seems like.

I thought the Bears tried to get Cutler killed over the last few seasons. Having possession receivers doesn’t help him as he only has 1.7 seconds to get the pass away.

LOL Just like every team in the league is waiting to sign Randy Moss if the 49ers don’t resign him!

Football? again? I thought the season was over?

This is why my annoyance with the NFL continues to grow.

My last thought of anything to do with football is…

I think they should place a statue of “Kristen Ponder”, in front of the new Vikings Stadium.

So the pigeons have a place to Sh!!!!

To the people out there saying we should trade him “if” we get a third, you are quite mistaken. this guy was in the mvp discussion, had exactly one drop in 81 targets, is easily our second best player, and is only 24 years old just figuring our how to run routes. think a more explosive wes welker going forward.. unloading him without getting a significant haul would be a huge mistake. even a late first will not compensate for what he brings to the table.. sit him down, give him his $, tell him to shut up and play. him and Ap can keep our offense in the top 7 on them alone for a long time.

It really doesn’t matter what receivers the viks have because you first need a QB that has the arm strength and accuracy to get them the ball. As for compensation, at least a 1st rounder.

Actually… my entire point is that Percy Harvin makes the above argument invalid. Ponder is a horrible QB… but Harvin made him look good!

I disagree, but am not staying in this conversation. I do agree if Harvin is the cancer that Viking fans say he is, then get rid of him!!! I just feel that, other that Tarkenton and Kapp, Ponder may be a decent QB for ya… Look what Carter and Moss did for Culpepper!!!

With both of them playing together last season our offense was nowhere near top 7. Maybe we should shoot for top 3 in our division before we try for top 7 in the nfl

Saying he was in the MVP discussion is a very bold statement. No WR has ever won mvp, and calvin johnson, who obviously broke the yards record this year, finish 6th in the mvp voting. So there is no way he should be in the discussion for the most valuable player in the league. Harvin is a great player when he is healthy, dont get me wrong.

I also find it extremely entertaining how all of the vikings fans thought Ponder was the worst qb in the league and thought joe webb should get a chance to start. But when ponder played well against the packers in week 17, all vikings fans thought he is a true god send. And now all the viks fans are back to the consensus that he sucks and has no place in this league.. amusing.

huge mistake they need to pick up Jennings from Green Bay
and they could have a triple threat> The Vikes do need a better QB
