How did the deer ever survive without me?

Been feeding our little heard of 10 deer with Nutra Deer.

I’m running dangerously low and HAD to buy back up at Fleet Farm the other day. Because according to the two young ladies in my house, they might starve!

Question for you deer nuts…Is three fawns common? I’m guessing the bigger one is the doe and the three smaller were the fawns. I thought deer only have 1 or two at a time?

FYI we have a little fawn statue on our front steps. They find it most interesting.

Maybe one of them got “adopted” when its mother was shot this fall? just an idea

Trips happen many times, especailly if a mild winter` and/or an abundent food supply. I am certain I saw a doe with 3 on opening day this past season. I also often pictured a doe with 3 fawns many times last early fall.

Not uncommon but it happens here as well. I think most are adopted.

I’ve got some “Nutra Remmington” to feed em iff’n ya want to lessen your feeding load.

Hope the Fav Daughter doesn’t read that.

It’s legal to shoot in Afton which is across the road in the background, but not in Lakeland which is where they are standing.

Doesn’t a person need a license or something before I can have venison back strap x 4?

I had 3 fawns and a Doe in my back yard 1.5yr ago – I’ve got pictures of them while they’re very young tho so I’m assuming it was triplets.

I’m only about 10min away from you… Genetics?

Regarding three fawns, I have read that the most common birth with healty deer is twin fawns. In the same article it stated that triplets are actually more common than single births. Over the past ten years, we have witnessed triplets probably every 2nd or 3rd year or so.
