    Obviously they aren’t all like that or we would have heard of this before.

    Kind goes back to checking out the transom before you hand over the cash….which was the point of the post.

    I appreciate the post, I think it is great he is giving us the heads up. For people that own or are in the market of buying a used boat I think it would be nice to know the brand. Not sure how many sellers would be ecstatic about a potential buyer pulling off there transom cover. I know there are other things to look for also…

    Even in a glass boat there “might” be a wood reinforcing wood structure within the glass. Whether it be an out board or an i/o drive. I had that issue in my old glass boat that we bought new in 1972. It was showing “some” (key word some but not even close to what I saw) softness in its transom when I sold it in 1998.
